Abstract: Apparatus and methods for attaching portable lighting devices to objects/surface are provided. In some embodiments, an elastic lanyard is anchored to a body portion of a portable lighting device and a free closed loop portion can be looped around an object, and/or a channel formed on the body portion. In some embodiments, the channel is formed on a base of the body portion and the elastic lanyard can be stretched about an object disposed between a bottom surface of the base and the lanyard. In other embodiments, a lanyard is anchored to a detachable member that is magnetically attachable to a body portion of the portable lighting device.

Abstract: A method for augmenting a threaded conversation between a first device and a second device. The method includes: receiving a selection of a selectable animation, via a selection of a selectable animation representation, at the first device, wherein the selectable animation is configured for augmenting the threaded conversation; and incorporating the selection of the selectable animation into the threaded conversation such that the selectable animation appears in a conversation view of the first device and the second device.

Abstract: A tent stake has a lighting component. A portion of the lighting component can be disposed between walls of the tent stake, and slidably attached thereto. The lighting component can have a lens attached to a flexible housing of the lighting component. A light source of the lighting component can be actuated by manually depressing the lens, with the lens floating on the housing. Also, in some embodiments, the lens can be pressed multiple times to select different lighting modes.
