  • Publication number: 20160272163
Abstract: A vision system of a vehicle includes a camera configured to be disposed at an exterior portion of a vehicle so as to have a field of view exterior of the vehicle. The camera includes a lens. A washer includes a connector and fluid passageway. The washer is configured to be detachably attached at the camera when the camera is disposed at the exterior portion of the vehicle. When attached at the camera, the connector is configured for connection to a washer system of a vehicle such that, when the vehicle washer system is actuated, pressurized fluid flows through the fluid passageway and onto the lens.

  • Publication number: 20150365569
Abstract: A camera module for a vision system of a vehicle includes a housing, a lens and at least one circuit board having circuitry disposed in the housing with an imaging array sensor disposed at the circuit board. An elongated thermally conductive element has a first portion in thermal conductive contact with the circuit board and a second portion extending from the first portion towards and through the housing such that the second portion protrudes through an aperture through the housing and protrudes from the housing exterior of the camera module. A heat sink is disposed exterior of the housing. The second portion of the thermally conductive element protrudes at least partially into the heat sink and is in thermally conductive contact with the heat sink. The thermally conductive element is configured to transfer heat from the circuit board to the heat sink to reduce heat within the camera module.

  • Publication number: 20150266430
Abstract: A camera assembly for a vehicle vision system includes a housing with a lens holder at a first housing portion and a connector portion at a second housing portion. The connector portion is configured for connecting to vehicle wiring when the camera assembly is installed at a vehicle. A circuit element is disposed within the housing and a plurality of electrical connector elements is disposed at the connector portion of the second housing portion. Each of the electrical connector elements includes a first end portion configured for electrically connecting to circuitry of the circuit element and a second end portion configured for electrically connecting to the vehicle wiring. The first end portions of the electrical connector elements include flexible elements that, during mating of the first housing portion to the second housing portion, flex as the first end portions engage the circuitry and make electrical connection with the circuitry.

  • Patent number: 9020683
Abstract: A diagnostic system for diagnosing faults in a trailer electrical system generally includes a mode determination module that determines a current operating mode to be one of a sleep mode, a normal mode, a situational awareness mode, and an adaptive calibration mode. A first mode module operates when the current operating mode is the normal mode and during operation, diagnoses an open circuit fault of the trailer electrical system based on a comparison of a current load on the trailer electrical system and an average load.

  • Patent number: 7004643
Abstract: A fiber optic coupling device that securely holds a ferrule of a fiber optic cable in alignment with an optical interface of a fiber optic transceiver (FOT) device. Included is a guide member that has one or more guide channels and which is inserted into a connector body. A ferrule residing in one of the guide channels is prevented from moving forward in the guide channel due to the guide member engaging a shoulder on the ferrule. Similarly, the ferrule is prevented from moving backwards in the guide channel due to the connector body engaging the shoulder of the ferrule.

  • Patent number: 6796722
Abstract: A two-piece ferrule assembly for terminating and mounting the end of an optical fiber in a threaded female socket. The assembly has an inner ferrule member with a channel for receiving and mounting the end of an optical fiber from which the jacket has been removed, and an outer ferrule member mounted to rotate on a rear portion of the inner ferrule member and having an external thread mating with the female socket. The outer ferrule member extends over the fiber jacket, and includes a rear clamping portion adapted to engage at least one of the fiber jacket and the inner ferrule member to orthogonally clamp the fiber jacket behind its connection with the inner ferrule member as the outer ferrule member is threaded into the socket.
