  • Patent number: 7749046
Abstract: A toy vehicle may include a drive unit; a plurality of wheels; mechanical linkage coupling the drive unit to one or more of the wheels to permit energy stored in the drive unit to be discharged to drive the one or more driven wheels and propel the vehicle; and a user operable selector mechanism configured to permit a user of the toy to select, from a plurality of different speeds, a desired speed at which the vehicle is propelled when energy from the drive unit is discharged through the one or more driven wheels.

  • Patent number: 7575496
Abstract: A toy locking mechanism, a toy releasing mechanism, and action figure toys that include the same. The toy locking mechanism may include first and second members having at least one corresponding pair of first and second locking elements forming nip regions. The locking mechanism may also include a third member having an end portion adapted to be retained in a nip region when the second member is in a locked position. A fourth member may be adapted to bias the second member toward the locked position. A fifth member may be adapted to be moved by a user relative to the first and second members, and may be adapted to contact the second member during movement to urge the second member toward an unlocked position. Some embodiments include a releasing mechanism adapted to urge the end portion of a third member away from an associated nip region.

  • Publication number: 20070099541
Abstract: A toy vehicle is provided for launching comprising a body with a chamber. The chamber has an opening. The chamber releasably holds a power source (e.g., fluid) under pressure. A covering mechanism is disposed adjacent the chamber, and is biased to a first position to cover the opening. The covering mechanism is movable to a second position for allowing the power source (e.g., fluid) to be propelled through the opening. The toy vehicle has an actuator disposed adjacent the covering mechanism operable for movement between a starting position and an actuating position. In the starting position, the actuator allows the covering mechanism to remain in the first position. In the actuating position, the actuator moves the covering mechanism to the second position. The toy vehicle has a delay mechanism operatively coupled to the actuator configured to move the actuator to the actuating position after a delay or an interval.
