  • Publication number: 20210118525
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods and systems for assessing the risk of glaucoma in a subject. In certain embodiments, the present disclosure provide a method of assessing the risk of primary open angle glaucoma in a subject, the method comprises determining a risk score for primary open angle glaucoma in the subject on the basis of the genetic content of the subject at a plurality of selected genetic loci or markers and thereby assessing the risk of primary open angle glaucoma in the subject, wherein the selected genetic loci or markers comprise (i) genetic loci or markers having an association with glaucoma, and/or (ii) genetic loci or markers having an association with increased intraocular pressure, and/or (iii) genetic loci or markers having an association with an increased vertical cup to disk ratio, and/or (iv) genetic loci or markers having an association with a multi-trait test of glaucoma, intraocular pressure and vertical cup to disc ratio. • Publication number: 20210030024
Abstract: Disclosed are compositions and methods for producing a poultry egg that is rich in odd-chain fatty acid (OCFA), particularly pentadecanoic acid (C15:0) and heptadecanoic (C17:0) acid. Poultry feed can be mixed with a compound (e.g. biomass or oil extract) that is produced from microalgae cultured to comprise elevated levels of OCFA. The OCFA-enriched poultry feed comprises an elevated level of OCFA and it can be fed to poultry that are laying eggs. As the OCFA-enriched feed is incorporated by the poultry, the resulting eggs comprise yolks that are rich in OCFA. The OCFA rich eggs can be consumed by humans as a dietary source of OCFA, to improve health.

  • Publication number: 20070274404
Abstract: A method for distributed spectrum management of digital communication systems having a plurality of communication lines on which signals are transmitted and received by respective users, the method comprising the steps of: collecting information about line, signal and interference characteristics of a plurality of the communication lines from a plurality of sources; determining the line, signal and interference characteristics of a plurality of the communication lines; varying power allocation of particular plurality of the communication lines between respective transmitter and receiver taking into consideration the determined line, signal and interference characteristics of a plurality of the communication lines and consideration of a noise weight of a plurality of the communication lines to enable a minimum power on a plurality of the communication lines and to allow required effective data-rates for each of said respective users to be satisfied.
