Abstract: A disposable hydrophilic catheterization device for inserting a hydrophilic catheter into the urethra of an individual for the purpose of evacuating the bladder is disclosed. The catheter device includes a catheter introducer, a flexible hydrophilic catheter and a flexible thin-walled sheath. The sheath surrounds the urethra-insertable portion of the catheter, is adapted for containing a wetting liquid, and prevents pooling of the wetting liquid with collected urine. A leak-resistant diaphragm disposed within the catheter introducer is capable of being pierced by the catheter tip to form a leak-resistant orifice around the wetted hydrophilic catheter as it moves through the orifice.

Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods are disclosed which relate to a catheter cap which seals a reservoir of a catheter introducer. The catheter cap secures over an introducer tip to prevent airflow into the introducer tip. The catheter cap utilizes an elongated stem to block a distal opening of the reservoir to further prevent airflow. A lip of the catheter cap may further engage an insertion stop point of the catheter introducer to secure the catheter cap. The catheter cap ensures proper lubrication of the introducer tip and the catheter during insertion of the catheter into the urethra of a user.

Abstract: A connecting device for a catheter assembly is disclosed allowing a user to connect a catheter assembly to an adhesive pad which is then capable of anchoring the catheter assembly to a patient's leg. The connecting device may have an introducer body with an extension body and an attachment mechanism. The connecting device can be rotated along with or within a collar in a circular manner in order to facilitate the making of the connection with the adhesive pad. Additionally, the connecting device may contain an enlarged portion to enhance operability.

The improvements include an apparatus and methods for emptying fluid from a fluid collection bag, a flow indicator on the fluid collection bag, and a convenient packaging for a catheterization kit containing these components. The apparatus and methods for emptying fluid from a fluid collection bag employ a drainage system including a plurality of tear off portions that expose drain tubes having different flow rates. Further, a flow indicator may be provided in the inlet port of the fluid collection bag. An attaching member is coupled to the fluid collection bag, enabling the fluid collection bag to be hung from a frame of a chair that a patient or user is sitting in.

Abstract: Catheter advancing devices, systems and methods for advancing a catheter into the urethra of a user are disclosed. The catheter advancement device includes a body portion that couples to a guide portion of the catheter, the guide portion being movably coupled to the proximal end of a catheter. The catheter advancement device further includes a pair of flexible handles extending outwards from the body portion, and a gripping portion extending inwards from each of the flexible handles. A surface of the gripping portion comes in contact with the catheter when the flexible handles are engaged, and the surface of the gripping portion in contact with the catheter applies pressure to the catheter when the handles are engaged to advance the catheter through the guide portion.
