    Abstract: A system, method and/or device for identifying and categorizing vascular structures in function optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) data, without the use of OCT structural data. The method for extracting structural retinal layer information of an eye from OCTA volume data may comprise accessing a plurality of (OCTA) en face images from the OCTA volume data; submitting the en face images to a data processing module configured to identify regions of superficial vascular plexus (SVP) and deep vascular plexus (DVP) within the en face images; and designating at least one identified region of DVP that is superficial to an identified SVP region as a retinal layer.
