    Abstract: An example Smart Candle Platform is configured to includes a candle fixture that comprises an outer shell having an opening, a mid-frame, and a base, and a fuel bottle configured to hold a fuel material and is removably coupled to the candle fixture. The fuel bottle is positioned at least partially within a hollow interior of the mid-frame of the candle fixture and accommodated by the base. The fuel bottle further comprises a wick that extends through an opening of the outer shell, and the candle fixture includes an ignitor configured to ignite the fuel material via the wick to produce a living flame, a proximity sensor to sense a distance between an object and the living flame, a self-extinguisher, and a control system configured to, upon determining the distance between the object and the living flame is unsafe, control the self-extinguisher to extinguish the living flame.

The hardware processor also executes the software code to determine, using the scoring module, desirability scores for each one of the plurality of candidate advertisements, each of the desirability scores corresponding to a likelihood of each respective one of the plurality of candidate advertisements enticing the target consumer group, and to select one of the plurality of candidate advertisements based on the desirability scores for distribution to the target consumer group.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A wireless communication network may support mission critical (MiCr) communications and mobile broadband (MBB) communications with hybrid multiplexing (e.g., time division multiplexing (TDM) and frequency division multiplexing (FDM)). A base station may identify a first set of resources allocated for MiCr communications and a second set of resources allocated for MBB communications. The first and second set of resources may be multiplexed in the frequency domain, and the base station may transmit MiCr information over the first set of resources under normal data traffic conditions. As data traffic or other conditions associated with MiCr communications change, the base station may schedule MiCr transmissions on the second set of resources allocated for MBB communications, by puncturing the second set of resources for the MiCr communications.

    Abstract: Various techniques provide for identifying and transmitting a first transmission to a UE in a first transmission time interval (TTI), and puncturing a portion of the first transmission with a higher priority second transmission that has a shorter TTI than the first TTI. The punctured portion of the first transmission may then be transmitted in a subsequent portion of the first TTI, concurrently with an originally allocated portion of the first transmission for that subsequent portion of the TTI. A UE may identify the punctured portion of the first transmission, and identify that the punctured portion of the first transmission is being transmitted in the subsequent portion of the first TTI. The UE may decode the received transmissions and merge the punctured portion with other, non-punctured, portions of the first transmission.
