Publication number: 20240201053Abstract: A gas input switching device (also referred to as a “multipoint system”) receives gas samples from multiple gas sources (e.g., gas wells or other gas source) for testing using a gas analyzer (e.g., a laser sensor). Advantageously, using the multipoint system discussed herein, multiple individual gas sources may be analyzed by a single gas analyzer by alternating input to the gas analyzer between the multiple gas lines, such as according to a multipoint switching algorithm.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 18, 2023Publication date: June 20, 2024Inventor: Jamie Tooley

Patent number: 9850741Abstract: An interchangeable orifice wellhead system is disclosed which comprises a flow control valve comprised of a male union, a female union, a valve cap, and an orifice plate. The orifice plate can include a display tab, which visually communicates to the technician the size of orifice plate aperture. Orifice plates having different size apertures can be interchanged within the same flow control valve. In some embodiments, the male union of the flow control valve can be machined or interchanged with another male union to be used with different size orifice plates.Type: GrantFiled: June 9, 2015Date of Patent: December 26, 2017Assignee: Landtec North America, Inc.Inventors: Mitchal Cassel, Jamie Tooley, Scott Marcell

Publication number: 20170356553Abstract: An adjustable orifice valve system is disclosed which comprises an iris valve to control flow rate through the system, and a slide valve to prevent leaks through the system. Both valves can be adjusted through a gear train manually via a handle and/or automatically via a motor. When the iris valve is in a minimally open configuration, the gear train engages the slide valve to permit or disallow flow through the slide valve. When the iris valve is in a partially or maximally open configuration, an opening in the slide valve is aligned with the flow axis of the system to permit uninhibited flow through the slide valve. The position of the handle can indicate aperture size of the iris valve and/or position of the slide valve. In some embodiments, a pressure transducer and/or gear position sensor can provide determination of flow rate through the valve system.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 9, 2017Publication date: December 14, 2017Inventors: Mitchal Cassel, Jamie Tooley, Scott Marcell

Patent number: 8404184Abstract: A system and method for calculating a value indicative of the amount of an undesirable constituent of a volatile gas stream that is removed from the atmosphere. Data received at a higher sampling rate is subjected to a plurality of validation processes and data that is determined to be faulty is then quarantined. Quarantined data can be replaced, however, an audit trail is generated to indicate what data has been replaced and the underlying rationale for the replacement data.Type: GrantFiled: September 19, 2011Date of Patent: March 26, 2013Inventor: Jamie Tooley

Publication number: 20070225923Abstract: A computing system determines adjustments for each of a plurality of wellheads in a gas extraction system in order to increase a total energy production of the gas extraction system to at least an expected total energy production. The computing system determines preliminary adjustments for each of the wellheads and then determines further adjustments to certain of the wellheads based at least partly on a current energy production of respective wellheads, data regarding historical energy production of respective wellheads, and an affect the preliminary adjustment for a respective wellhead would have on the total energy production of the gas extraction system.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 4, 2006Publication date: September 27, 2007Inventor: Jamie Tooley
