Patent number: 11478253Abstract: A method and device for reducing the damaging effects of radiant energy, blast, or concussive events includes applying pressure to at least one jugular vein to reduce the egress of blood from the cranial cavity during or before the incidence of the imparting event. Reducing blood outflow from the cranial cavity increases intracranial volume and/or pressure of the cerebrospinal fluid to reduce the risk of traumatic brain injury and injuries to the spinal column. Reducing blood outflow further increases the intracranial pressure and volume, and thereby increases the pressure and volume of the cochlear fluid, the vitreous humor and the cerebrospinal fluid to thereby reduce the risk of injury to the inner ear, internal structure of the eye and of the spinal column. In addition, increasing intracranial pressure and volume reduces the likelihood of brain injury and any associated loss of olfactory function.Type: GrantFiled: November 13, 2019Date of Patent: October 25, 2022Assignee: TBI Innovations LLCInventors: David Smith, Kevin John Vititoe, Jamison Joseph Float, Chad Michael Leeder

Publication number: 20220151637Abstract: A system includes a first device, a second device, and garment. The garment has an elastic region that is configured to receive the first and second devices so that, when the garment is worn by a subject, the first and second devices are positioned at a respective one of a pair of neck veins of the subject. The first and second devices and/or the elastic region apply a compressive pressure to the pair of neck veins while the garment is worn.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 23, 2021Publication date: May 19, 2022Inventors: David W. Patent number: 9486662Abstract: An apparatus that retracts a plunger along an axis about which a handle pivots. The handle has two ends that are perpendicular, the second end having a sidewall with a barrel forming a chamber in which the plunger is slidably mounted. The sidewall has elongated slots through which opposing roller bars that extend from the plunger protrude through. A collar body is rotatably mounted to the second end and has opposing openings with triangular surfaces. The roller bars rest on the triangular surfaces, and when the first end of the handle is rotated about the central axis, the slot sidewalls drive the roller bars around the triangular surfaces, thereby causing axial movement of the plunger away toward the first end of the handle without moving the first end to move out of the plane in which it rotates.Type: GrantFiled: January 28, 2014Date of Patent: November 8, 2016Assignee: IncludeFitness, Inc.Inventors: James Ryan Eder, Jamison Joseph Float

Patent number: 9162102Abstract: A means and method for automatically selecting an amount of weight to be connected to a cable system in a fitness machine. When a dial is rotated to select a weight, a connected computer receives the rotational position information, operates a program to determine the amount of each weight to attach to the cable system and actuates solenoids accordingly to attach the weight to the cable by inserting pins fully into weight stacks to connect weights to a rod connected to a cable. The computer also displays the selected weight on the dial. When the new weight is selected, one or more retracting solenoids draw any inserted pins partially out before any new pins are fully inserted to connect the weights to the rod. This ensures that the system is cleared before attaching any weights to the cable.Type: GrantFiled: January 28, 2014Date of Patent: October 20, 2015Assignee: IncludeFitness, Inc.Inventors: James Ryan Eder, Jamison Joseph Float

Publication number: 20090249718Abstract: A corner panel for a veneer wall panel system includes a body having a fastener section extending in a first plane and a fastenerless section extending in a second plane. The first and second planes define an included corner angle A. In addition, a method is provided for securing a corner panel of a veneer wall panel system to a corner of an underlying support structure. That method includes the step of positioning the corner panel on the corner of the underlying support structure, fastening the corner panel to the support structure only along a first section of the corner panel and maintaining a second section of the corner panel free of any fasteners. In this way, it is possible to decouple any corner stresses between the corner panel and the underlying support structure.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 3, 2008Publication date: October 8, 2009Inventors: Francis S.
