  • Patent number: 4389185
Abstract: A combustor in which fuel is premixed with rather large amounts of primary air in order to obtain a high temperature, rich mixture of volatized fuel and air prior to ignition is designed as a tubular vaporizer provided with a swirl inlet opening in a preheat air chamber and a substantially rotation symmetrical outlet in a combustion chamber the outlet being directed towards inlets for secondary air to the combustion chamber.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 4365951
Abstract: A combustion device of the type in which fuel is supplied in liquid phase through a "walking-stick" is improved by imparting a rotary movement to the air passing the "walking-stick". The fuel will form a film which is volatired and mixed so thoroughly with air that the temperature at the end of the "walking-stick" may be used as an indication of the prevailing proportion between the mass flows of supplied air and fuel.

  • Patent number: 4364724
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for dosing the air-fuel mixture in burners of the type which is formed with an evaporator tube (9) through which fuel and some amount of combustion air is introduced in the combustion chamber (1) and in said combustion chamber is mixed with further combustion air and is inflamed. The optimum amount of combustion air is determined for different amounts of fuel and for different reference temperatures in a predetermined point of the evaporator tube (9) adjacent the mouth (10) thereof in the combustion chamber (1), and the temperature of the air-fuel mixture is measured by means of a thermo element (41) in the said point of the evaporator tube (9).

  • Patent number: 4255122
Abstract: A burner pumps fuel through a fuel line and pumps air into a chamber. Air from the chamber and fuel from the fuel line enter a mixing chamber. The fuel and air mixture flow through an evaporator tube which extends into a combustion chamber and turns at two successive 90.degree. angles and releases the mixture in an opening facing the bottom of the chamber. Combustion air flows through the air chamber outward parallel to the combustion chamber walls in a labyrinth and then into an expansion chamber through air slots and past flow directing wings which give the combustion air a screw direction. Exhaust gas flows outward around the outer walls of the labyrinth. The evaporator tube has an outer area to inner volume ratio of 0.3 to 0.8.
