  • Patent number: 5331953
Abstract: The present invention refers to a device in connection with an inhaler intended for measuring and recording the course of inhalation of a patient. The device is intended for use in medication, e.g. clinical tests, where there is a need of afterwards being able to control if the patient has taken medicine in a prescribed way. The device comprises an electronic unit provided in the inhaler for recording of the time for each dosage of the medicine of the inhaler. A detector (16,32,36) is provided in the inhaler in connection with a passage for the airflow of inhalation, whereby the detector detects the airflow of the inhalation through the inhaler as well as the availability of the medicine at the inhalation within said passage, so that a combination of these two detected values decides if and how the performed inhalation should be recorded in the electronical unit (11,33,35).

  • Patent number: 4907583
Abstract: Device in a previously known powder inhalator intended for inhalation of an air flow which contains pharmacologically active compound in micronized form. The powder inhalator comprises a nozzle unit (2) with a nozzle aperture (2a) as well as a container unit (3) with a releasing or dosing unit (6) for delivering the active compound. The air flow generated by inhalation is at least partly aspirated through an air conduit (7) located in the container unit (3), which conduit extends from an air inlet (8), communicating with the environment, via said releasing or dosing unit (6), up to said nozzle unit (2). According to the invention, deflector devices are stationarily arranged in the container unit (3) and/or in the nozzle unit (2), said deflector devices, for example in the shape of a helical channel portion (13), being arranged to create a powerful deflecting movement for the purpose of disrupting said powder particles into the respirable particle size distribution (less than 5 .mu.m).

  • Patent number: 4641644
Abstract: An aerosol inhalation device in pocket-size which has one dosage dispensing position and one storage position, and which comprises a two-part telescoping deceleration chamber (2, 3) with rectangular cross-section and a socket (1) for an exchangeable aerosol container. The socket is connected with the inner chamber part (2) so that it can be telescopically inserted therein to form a storage position. In dosage dispensing position the socket is extended from the deceleration chamber, pivoted at an angle relative to the longitudinal axis of the chamber and locked in the angle.

  • Patent number: 4596339
Abstract: A seal for screw caps for bottles or the like, including a breakable sealing ring on the screw cap adapted to engage a radially projecting collar on the bottle neck. The sealing ring consists of a number of peripherally separate flat or plate-like portions interconnected by means of bridge portions and is joined with the remaining part of the screw cap by means of tongues joining ends of the flat or plate-like portions adjacent the screw cap and the edge of said screw cap.

  • Patent number: 4230040
Abstract: A releasing device for disconnecting a buoyant body from an anchor a predetermined period after having been sunk into water. In order to accomplish a reliable device, which may be stored for very long periods of time, a piston is movable in a cylinder under the influence of a spring and a water pressure differential. The piston controls the disconnection of the buoyant body and the anchor, as the cylinder is connected to one part and the piston will release an element connected to the other part in a disconnecting position under the influence of the spring.
