Abstract: A method for the producing self-reinforced polymeric three-dimensional products is disclosed comprising the steps of a) chopping a polymeric tape in mono-extruded or co-extruded form into short lengths, b) spraying the chopped polymeric tapes into or onto a porous mould, and c) thermosetting and/or thermobinding the chopped tapes by suitable binders and/or binding matrixes to obtain a preform, characterized in that the chopped polymeric tapes, the binders and/or binding matrixes are already given right from the start in the correct quantity.

Abstract: Process for producing a laminate being built of at least two monolayers of polymeric tapes, the polymeric tapes having a tensile strength of at least 200 MPa, said process comprises the steps of -forming a first monolayer of polymeric tapes by pre-tensioning the polymeric tapes and subsequently positioning the polymeric tapes under tension in a unidirectional, parallel manner,—forming at least a second monolayer over the first monolayer in the same manner the first monolayer is formed, thereby stacking the at least two monolayers of polymeric tapes in such a way that the direction of the polymeric tapes is the same in every monolayer and that the polymeric tapes of each monolayer are offset to the tapes of the adjoining monolayer above or below that monolayer—consolidating the thus stacked monolayers of polymeric tapes to obtain a laminate.

Abstract: A flexible panel comprising a plurality of individual laminates, the laminates being built of at least two monolayers of unidirectionally arranged polymeric tapes bonded together, the direction of the polymeric tapes being the same in every monolayer and the polymeric tapes of each monolayer are offset to the tapes of the adjoining monolayer, characterised in that the laminates are stacked on top of each other and secured to each other by separated bonding points or bonding lines.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a moulding from a plastic, preferably a fibre-reinforced plastic, which method comprises at least the steps of stacking at least one plastic layer to form a laminate; arranging the laminate between at least two membranes, at least one of which comprises heating elements; bringing the thus formed assembly to a first temperature by heating the heating elements of at least one membrane; forming the assembly by making use of a shaping tool brought to a second temperature. The invention also relates to a device for performing the method and a heatable membrane to be applied in the method.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing a laminate of polymeric tapes, characterised in that polymeric tapes of the core-cladding C) type are used, in which the core material has a higher melting temperature than the cladding material, which method comprises the following steps: i) biassing the polymeric tapes, ii) positioning the polymeric tapes, iii) consolidating the polymeric tapes to obtain the laminate.
