  • Patent number: 7645519
Abstract: The invention relates to a composite article comprising at least one metal reinforcement element embedded in a polymer material. An adhesion promoting layer is interposed between the metal reinforcement element and the polymer material. The adhesion promoting layer comprises an organofunctional silane and a hyperbranched polymer. The invention further relates to a method of manufacturing a composite article and to the use of a composite article as metal reinforced article.

  • Patent number: 7399804
Abstract: Intercalates and exfoliates formed from layered materials and dendritic polymers are disclosed, together with the uses of these materials, e.g. in producing composite materials. The dispersion of layered materials in a dendritic polymer matrix (hyperbranched polymers, star shaped polymers or star branched polymers) or has not been disclosed in the prior art. The high number of end-groups per molecule of dendritic polymer combined with their unique globular architectures leads to large intergallery spacings when intercalated in layered silicates and particularly facile exfoliation in spite of the high molar mass of the dendritic polymer. The excellent processability and potential high reactivity of dendritic polymers makes them extremely promising for thermoset applications, and coatings.

  • Publication number: 20040192857
Abstract: A method is disclosed for producing a modified polyester having improved rheological and mechanical properties. The method is characterised in that a polyester is mixed with a hyperbranched polymer (HBP), they are then melted down, the melted mixture is cooled to form a solid, and the solid mixture is then subjected to a solid phase postcondensation. A product is also disclosed which is produced according to the method, the postcondensed mixture being processed to form the product.

  • Patent number: 4563324
Abstract: A pressure generating device for use in injection moulding at a high pressure or normal pressure where the pressure generating device is attached to the mould, the platens, the tie bars or other suitable parts of the injection moulding machine which device operates separately from the normal pressure generating mechanism and acts on the content of the mould cavity only, said device comprising a pressure generating part, e.g. a hydraulic cylinder (1) connected with a plunger (2) which can bring the pressure inside the cavity to the desired level during an injection cycle and a non-return flow valve (3) or any other element closing the mold cavity from the injection side, and the use of said device in injection moulding at high pressure or normal pressure.
