  • Publication number: 20250079964
Abstract: A direct converter for an axisymmetric mirror confinement system provides a set of radially symmetric vanes charged to capture ions escaping along the axis of the confinement system and to convert their energy to electrical power. An electron trap positioned before the charged vanes uses a magnetic field to divert and collect electrons, separating them from the ions, and may support a radial electric field providing plasma control. The charged vanes may be constructed of or have a coating of a getter material absorbing neutrals derived from those ions after capture.

  • Publication number: 20090263421
Abstract: The present invention provides a cellular vaccine for therapeutic or prophylactic treatment of a pathological condition, the vaccine comprising or consisting of a population of CD 4+ T cells modified such that they contain an antigenic component, and/or a nucleic acid molecule encoding an antigenic component thereof, wherein the T cells are (a) activated, or capable of being activated, and (b) apoptotic, or capable or being made apoptotic. The invention further provides an adjuvant composition for use in a method of vaccination, the composition comprising or consisting of a population of T cells, wherein the T cells are (a) activated, or capable of being activated, and (b) apoptotic, or capable or being made apoptotic.

  • Publication number: 20070108005
Abstract: An identifying panel for luggage includes a visual queue to identify the luggage from most other luggage pieces. The identifying panel for luggage includes a body having a front surface and a back surface, a recognizable visual queue disposed on the front surface, and a panel connecting device attached to the body for connecting the panel to a first side of a luggage piece. A kit comprises a removable panel having a front surface and back surface, a connecting device for attaching the removable panel to a first side of a luggage piece, and a visual queue disposed on the front surface for identifying a luggage piece. A method for providing luggage with an identifiable panel includes forming a body having a front surface and a back surface, a recognizable visual queue disposed on the front surface, and a panel connecting device attached to the body for connecting the panel to a first side of a luggage piece and connecting the panel to a side of a luggage piece.

  • Publication number: 20070059498
Abstract: A plurality of decorative sheeting for changing the appearance of an appliance that includes a first main sheet having a first dimension, a second dimension, and a first surface having a decorative pattern and a first filler sheet having a first dimension, a second dimension, a first surface having a filler sheet decorative pattern that corresponds to the decorative pattern of the first main sheet. The first dimension of the first filler sheet is substantially equal to the first dimension of the first main sheet, and the second dimension of the first filler sheet is an order of magnitude less than the second dimension of the first main sheet. The first main sheet is configured to cover a portion of a first external surface located on a first side of an appliance, and the first filler sheet is configured to cover a portion of the first external surface, adjacent to the first main sheet.

  • Patent number: 5480546
Abstract: A screen dram for the dewatering and/or washing of cellulose pulp, comprises a first cylinder (2) made from non-stainless material, which is rotatable about its axis (5); a cylindrical screen plate (6) arranged coaxially on the outside of the first cylinder, but at a distance from it, and between the screen plate and the first cylinder an annular chamber (7) which can receive liquid which has passed through the screen plate, which chamber contains passages (26) which extend in the axial direction towards one or both ends of the drum for the withdrawal of the screen liquid. The chamber (7) is lined with stainless steel (8) in the form of one or more cylindrical plate sections (8a, 8b . . . 8n). These, by virtue of shrink joints, can be joined to and bear in seal-tight arrangement against the cylindrical casing of the first cylinder. Preferably, the stainless steel contains at least 5% molybdenum.
