  • Patent number: 5181753
Abstract: A device for attaching a water jet device to a concentrate container or a reservoir by means of a clamping device or a foot, comprising a connecting piece, in which the foot is arranged to be fixed and put into sealing abutment with the insert piece in one movement, for which purpose the connecting piece is provided externally with threaded parts designed to cooperate through a bayonet catch with a complementarily designed part of the foot. The container, which is designed as a flexible bag, may be provided with a base plate at the position of the connecting piece, said connecting piece being designed as an insert piece, so as to ensure that the outlet opening of the insert piece remains open.

  • Patent number: 5083503
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for making beverages, such as coffee, soup, tea, or the like, wherein a starting product, such as ground coffee, is supplied to a cavity and is enclosed therein by a piston. After this, through an opening provided in the piston, a quantity of fluid, in this case water, originating from a water system is pressed into said cavity. Hereafter, the fluid, after extraction of the starting product contained in the chamber, in this case filling chamber, is discharged through an opening near the end opposite the piston, the control of this process taking place electronically. The method is characterized in that use is made of an apparatus having at least two filling chambers of different size and mounted on a movable holder and that the various steps are performed during a single cycle of the holder.

  • Patent number: 4924908
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for withdrawing liquid from a reservoir, such as concentrate container, by means of a water jet device received in a clamping device. The reservoir is provided with an outlet opening having a valve mechanism fitted with a lip seal. The water jet device connects on the one hand to a water supply hose and on the other hand to a drain spout. The method and apparatus are characterized in that the reservoir is a flexible bag fitted with a connector or insert. The bag is received in a reservoir box whose underside has an opening for the passage of the connector or insert, as well as a plurality of passages for receiving the attachment elements of the clamping device.

  • Patent number: 4383537
Abstract: A system for analyzing and cutting tobacco leaves for cigar wrappers in wh each leaf is conveyed to a scanner which scans discrete areas in parallel lines to produce sequences of digital signals, each sequence representing a line and each signal indicating the presence or absence of a hole. The signals of each line, after a delay, are superimposed and the composite signal checked to ascertain if one or more hole free parallelograms of at least one given size can be cut from the leaf. After scanning the leaf is conveyed to another location and cut.
