Publication number: 20140261023Abstract: A method of controlling formation of a bale includes forming a bale from crop material by rotating the bale in a bale chamber and applying an amount of density pressure to the rotating bale. The method also includes receiving at least one operating condition value corresponding to at least one sensed operating condition when the bale is forming. The method further includes automatically determining the amount of bale density pressure applied to the bale responsive to receiving the at least one received operating condition value and controlling formation of the bale by causing the determined amount of bale density pressure to be applied to the bale.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 14, 2014Publication date: September 18, 2014Applicant: CNH INDUSTRIAL AMERICA LLCInventors: Kevin M. Patent number: 7854195Abstract: A baler has a bale chamber and a needle movable through the bale chamber to pass a strand of twine from one side of the bale chamber to a knotter located on the opposite side, the twine being engaged by a tip of the needle. In the invention, pressurized air is directed at the needle tip. The supply of pressurized air may be discontinuous and timed to coincide only with certain phases of the needle operating cycle. The air stream avoids crop material being caught up in the knots formed by the knotter.Type: GrantFiled: July 1, 2008Date of Patent: December 21, 2010Assignee: CNH America LLCInventor: Jan C. Van Groenigen

Patent number: 7705586Abstract: In an example embodiment, a magnetic sensor has a magnet and a magneto-resistive, arranged on a substrate such that magnetic field lines through the magneto-resistive element are substantially parallel to a plane of the substrate. Movement of a movable magnetically permeable element MMPE near the substrate is detected as it alters the number of field lines through the element. The MMPE can be more sensitive than devices arranged with perpendicular field lines, and can be easier to manufacture and integrate. Applications include analog pointers, pressure sensors and microphones. The MMPE can use magnets placed either side of the element to detect changes in size of a gap above the element. As the gap closes, less of the parallel oriented field passes through the magneto resistive element.Type: GrantFiled: September 19, 2005Date of Patent: April 27, 2010Assignee: NXP B.V.Inventors: Hans van Zon, Jaap Ruigrok, Jan C. van der Hoeven

Patent number: 7464523Abstract: A round baler comprises a mechanism for encircling a bale after it has been formed with a wrapping material drawn from a web on a supply roll. A guide mechanism is provided for adjusting the width of the web of wrapping material as it is offered to a formed bale, so as to selectively enable and disable the wrapping of the edges of the bale.Type: GrantFiled: May 29, 2007Date of Patent: December 16, 2008Assignee: CNH America LLCInventors: Johan A. E. Vande Ryse, Jan C. Van Groenigen

Patent number: 5419108Abstract: A round baler, having a pair of spaced side walls mounted on a main frame, is supported on wheels and adapted to be pulled across a field. A crop confining apron is mounted between the side walls for defining an expandable chamber that is adapted to rotatably form a cylindrical package of crop material between the side walls. A pickup picks up crop material and conveys it into the chamber through a generally transverse crop infeed opening operatively associated with the pickup. A transverse starter roll extends between the side walls to provide the upper limit of the infeed opening. A crop severing device extends into the expandable chamber in the vicinity of the starter roll to cut crop material on the surface of the cylindrical package as it is being formed.Type: GrantFiled: May 9, 1994Date of Patent: May 30, 1995Assignee: New Holland North America, Inc.Inventors: Bryant F. Patent number: 5165883Abstract: A process and apparatus for monitoring and ensuring safe operation of unvented kerosene heaters in indoor spaces detects the hazard of incomplete combustion and the concomitant reduced O.sub.2 and increased CO.sub.2 levels in the indoor air. CO.sub.2 level in the indoor air is monitored quickly and accurately, - regardless of the burner's flame height. This is achieved by sensing O.sub.2 level in the burner exhaust which is used as a measure for monitoring the CO.sub.2 level in the indoor air and as a control signal. During burner operation outside a predetermined flame height range, the O.sub.2 detection is used both for restoring a normal heating condition and for monitoring operation at minimum flame height and to generate a warning signal and a delayed automatic shut-down of the burner.Type: GrantFiled: July 16, 1991Date of Patent: November 24, 1992Assignee: Toyotomi Co. Ltd.Inventor: Jan C. Van Bemmel

Patent number: 5083503Abstract: A method and an apparatus for making beverages, such as coffee, soup, tea, or the like, wherein a starting product, such as ground coffee, is supplied to a cavity and is enclosed therein by a piston. After this, through an opening provided in the piston, a quantity of fluid, in this case water, originating from a water system is pressed into said cavity. Hereafter, the fluid, after extraction of the starting product contained in the chamber, in this case filling chamber, is discharged through an opening near the end opposite the piston, the control of this process taking place electronically. The method is characterized in that use is made of an apparatus having at least two filling chambers of different size and mounted on a movable holder and that the various steps are performed during a single cycle of the holder.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 1989Date of Patent: January 28, 1992Assignee: Sara Lee/DE N.V.Inventors: Jan C. van Hattem, Bernardus M. van Thoor, Jan Sperna Weiland
