  • Publication number: 20220258120
Abstract: The invention relates to a reactor, in particular a reactor for purifying offgases. The reactor includes a plurality of housing openings which open into a housing shaft, wherein the housing shafts are fitted with catalyst units. The reactor includes a sealing housing per housing shaft which allows replacement of the catalyst units in the course of ongoing operation of the reactor by way of a suitable arrangement of sealing elements and covering elements without there being any air exchange between an external environment of the reactor and the respective housing shaft.

  • Patent number: 10486968
Abstract: The invention relates to a plant for production of hydrogen, and to a method for operating this plant, comprising a steam reforming reactor having a furnace, in which reactor water and at least one carbonaceous energy carrier are reacted to form a hydrogen-containing crude synthesis gas, and at least one cleaning device for purifying the crude synthesis gas, to which the crude synthesis gas is fed from the steam reforming via at least one feed line. According to the invention, upstream of one of the at least one cleaning devices at least one return line branches off from the feed line, through which the crude synthesis gas is at least in part recirculated into the furnace of the steam reforming reactor.

  • Publication number: 20180306214
Abstract: The invention relates to a control system which comprises: a plurality of flow valves on channels of reaction fluid, which are i) in a closed position or ii) in an open position; a plurality of control pipes connected to a source of control fluid and to a respective control pipe, all or part of the flow valves switching to the closed position when the pressure of the control fluid in the control pipe drops below a predetermined threshold; a discharge pipe connected to the control pipes, in order to discharge the control fluid from the control pipes; a safety device connected i) to each control pipe and ii) to the discharge pipe and configured to have, selectively: i) a service configuration, wherein the control fluid flows to each control pipe, thus opening each flow valve, and ii) a safety configuration, wherein the control fluid is discharged through the discharge pipe, thus closing each flow valve.

  • Patent number: 7464012
Abstract: Process simulators, including a novel process simulator that utilizes simplified mathematical correlations to predict the performance of equipment or subsystems in a process unit. The process simulator comprises a process correlation that is a mathematical response model for a discrete process system in a process unit. The process correlation is developed by obtaining operating data over a range of operating conditions of the process unit and regressing the operating data to form the mathematical response model. The process simulator calculates a number of output parameters using a number of input parameters. The process simulator outputs the output parameters so they can be used by operating personnel to evaluate the current operations of the process plant and make operating decisions.
