Abstract: A digital broadcast receiver transmits a request for discovery information to a discovery information server, the request including receiver profile information associated with the current state of the digital broadcast receiver. The server identifies, on the basis of the receiver profile information, additional services that are available over an IP with a digital broadcasting receiver, and transmits discovery information for the additional services to the receiver. Then, the digital broadcast receiver determines a receiver channel number in order to locate the additional service at a channel guide on the basis of the received discovery information and logical channel numbers that are assigned to a plurality of broadcast services by a broadcast provider, and generates a channel guide by including the additional services in the determined receiver channel number and the plurality of broadcast services of the respective receiver channel numbers corresponding to the logical channel numbers.

Abstract: A method of configuring one of a digital TV receiver and a mobile device comprises receiving profile information from one of the digital TV receiver and the mobile device, the profile information including one or more profile settings, and configuring the other one of the digital TV receiver and the mobile device based on the received profile information including the one or more profile settings. The profile settings may, for example, include one or more of: a current location; a country setting; a language setting; network configuration settings; accessibility settings; a list of installed applications; a list of favorite websites; and user account settings. The configuration may be performed during an installation procedure of one of the devices, and events relating to the installation procedure, such as progress notifications and audio/video tutorials, may be triggered at the other device.

Abstract: A broadcasting receiver is arranged to provide linear services broadcasting linear events related to a predetermined time and non-linear services broadcasting static events regardless of time. The broadcasting receiver includes a receiver to receive a plurality of linear services each including a plurality of linear events broadcast at the predetermined times, a discovery information receiver to receive event discovery information including event type information for identifying a type of static event related to discovery information defining a plurality of static events, a processor to control a display unit to display a channel guide including the linear services and the non-linear services, and a user input receiver to receive user input selecting one of the static events from the channel guide, where the processor is performs one of a plurality of predetermined actions corresponding to the type of static event selected by the user input.
