  • Patent number: 4076467
Abstract: A pump comprises a tubular resilient pump element alternately extended and relaxed for longitudinal deformation and reinforced by means of filaments arranged in helices, preferably with different helices of opposite hands present, whose pitch angle is other than arccot .sqroot.2 so longitudinal deformation will result in volumetric changes. Inlet and outlet valves ensure unidirectional flow through the pump element. To smooth out flow a similarly constructed accumulator element, whose reinforcement pitch angle is chosen with a value such that the pump and accumulator pitch angles are on opposite sides of arccot .sqroot.

  • Patent number: 3986569
Abstract: An arrangement for the handling of drill string elements, such as tubes or rods, in drill rigs, comprising means for transferring the drill string elements between a magazine and the drill string axis, a drill string centralizer at the front end of an elongated support for guiding the drill string, a spinning device on said transferring means for gripping and rotating a drill string element, said means being adapted to axially displace the drill string element during rotation thereof, and a sleeve brake mounted on the drilling machine for non-rotatably holding a coupling sleeve when the adapter of the drilling machine is disconnected from the drill string.

  • Patent number: 3974891
Abstract: A crawler vehicle, e.g. a drill rig, has a main frame that is carried by two crawler assemblies having frames that are journal-mounted to the main frame. A transverse pivotable beam is coupled between the crawler frames by means of journal bearings that are obliquely inwardly directed so that the axes of the four bearings intersect each other at a single point. The transverse beam supports the main frame by means of a journal bearing, the axes of which lie in a vertical longitudinal plane through said point of intersection. All the journal bearings have an elastic bushing between the journal and the bearing box and relative movements in the bearings are taken up as shearing deformations in the elastic bushings.

  • Patent number: 3973634
Abstract: A device for driving a hose or cable reel along a feed beam of a drilling machine at half the speed of the drilling machine. The device comprises a slide guided by the feed beam in which a sprocket wheel is journalled in the slide and is rotated by engagement with the drive chain or similar drive means for the drilling machine to move back and forth in engagement with a stationary member on the feed beam at half the speed of the drilling machine.

  • Patent number: 3965997
Abstract: A method and apparatus for guiding and sealing a drill string during drilling. The drill string is formed with an increased diameter at the portions where two adjacent rods are connected. The guiding and sealing of the rods is maintained by means of hydraulically operated guide jaws in a drill rod centralizer. The increased diameter portions are guided and sealed by means of tubular members located rearwardly and forwardly of said jaws. The drill rod centralizer is mounted on a saddle which is slidable along a feed bar. The drill rod centralizer is connected to means for removing drill dust and may be provided with a tubular portion for guiding the drill bit during collaring of a new hole.
