  • Patent number: 11719409
Abstract: A vehicle light assembly including one or more movable light signature members that are selectively translated from a first position partially or wholly in front of conventional light units (low beams, high beams, taillights, etc.) to a second position away from the light units when the light units are in use. Thus, for example, the movable light signature member(s) can include one or more LEDs or the like that are illuminated to act as daytime running lights, turn signal indicators, accessory lights, etc. when they are disposed in front of the light units and when the low beams, high beams, or taillights are not in use. This provides the desired light signature. When the low beams, high beams, or taillights are in use, the movable light signature member(s) are translated out of the way, such that the light units are visible adjacent to and/or between the movable light signature member(s).

  • Patent number: 11643007
Abstract: The disclosed subject matter generally relates to a lighting module integrable in a vehicle exterior which can provide sufficient or even improved lighting performance in a cost-efficient way. The proposed lighting module includes an array of light source units that are controllable to provide at least one of low beam light and high beam light, the array of light source units is adapted to extend along a transverse axis of the vehicle across a longitudinal center plane of the vehicle. Accordingly, the present disclosure provides a functional lighting module which can provide at least one of high beam light and low beam light that is arrangeable in the centre portion of the vehicle, between the common locations of the prior art headlamps.

  • Patent number: 9010478
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a safety arrangement for a vehicle. The safety arrangement comprises a bonnet being displaceable between a closed position, an open position, permitting access to an engine compartment of the vehicle, and a deployed position, in which position there is a gap between the bonnet and the engine compartment. The bonnet is displaceable from the closed position to the deployed position, which is located upwards and rearwards as compared to the closed position. Further, the bonnet is directly openable to the open position both from the closed position and from the deployed position.

  • Publication number: 20030142503
Abstract: A pedestrian protection headlamp assembly for a motor vehicle allows the headlamp to yield rearward in a controlled, energy-absorbing manner in order to cushion the impact experienced by a pedestrian struck by the vehicle. The headlamp assembly comprises a headlamp mountable to the vehicle to form a front corner of the vehicle, a pivot mechanism disposed adjacent the outboard end of the headlamp for mounting the headlamp to the vehicle and defining a generally vertical pivot axis about which the headlamp may rotate relative to the vehicle, and a damper disposed inboard of the pivot mechanism. When a pedestrian strikes the headlamp, the damper compresses and allows controlled rearward movement of the inboard end of the headlamp as the headlamp rotates about the pivot mechanism. The damper is located adjacent an inboard end of the headlamp and a trigger prevents rotation of the headlamp about the pivot when the force applied to the headlamp is below a threshold value.
