  • Publication number: 20250045910
Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus and method configured for classifying timber logs in a wood processing chain. The apparatus comprises an image processor. The image processor is configured to receive a first log image of a first end of log and determine a first end pattern. The image processor is configured to receive a second log image of a second end of the same log, wherein the second end is opposite the first end. The image processor is further configured to determine a first pattern in the first end and a second pattern in the second end. Lastly, the image processor is further configured to determine a characteristic of the log based on the first pattern and the second pattern.

  • Publication number: 20230024974
Abstract: A system (100A) to track logs in a wood processing chain, includes a database arrangement (102) that includes pre-recorded image of a given log, wherein the given log is associated with log identification information. The system further includes a plurality of imaging devices implemented at a sorting station. The plurality of imaging devices (104) is configured to capture a first set of images from at least a first prespecified oblique angle. The system further includes a data processing arrangement (106) that is configured to: identify the given log at the sorting station; compare the at least one pre-recorded image with the captured first set of images at the sorting station in order to find an optimum image from the compared images for identification of the given log; determine a plurality of physical characteristics; and append the log identification information with the determined physical characteristics of the given log.

  • Patent number: 11559011
Abstract: Disclosed is a system for managing identification information for a log. The system comprises an arrangement for determining an origin of the log, a computing device communicably coupled to the remote server arrangement and a communication interface that is operable to transmit the captured at least one subsequent image to the remote server arrangement. The arrangement for determining an origin of the log further comprises at least one imaging device coupled to a forest harvester, a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver that is operatively coupled to the forest harvester and a data processor that is communicably coupled to a remote server arrangement and operable to process the captured at least one image and the determined felling location of the log to create the identification information for the log.

  • Publication number: 20210407036
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of identifying an object using at least one imaging. The method comprises acquiring calibration information for each of the imaging device arranged substantially perpendicular to a planar surface of the object, capturing an image of the planar surface using each of the imaging device, generating a transformed image corresponding to each image of the planar surface, using the calibration information of the imaging device used for capturing each image, generating a security map for each transformed image, wherein the security map comprises a weightage factor for each pixel of the transformed image, and wherein the weightage factor is based on image resolution of the transformed image, and constructing a resultant image of the planar surface using each transformed image and the security map for the transformed image, to identify the object.

  • Publication number: 20210248735
Abstract: There is disclosed an arrangement for identifying and tracking a log. The arrangement comprises at least one imaging device that, when in operation, captures at least one image of the log, a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver that, when in operation, determines a felling location of the log, a remote server arrangement that, when in operation, receives data related to captured at least one image and the determined felling location of the log, and processes the received data to create an identification information for the log, and a data processor that, when in operation, checks if a query matches with the identification information in the remote server arrangement, and retrieves identification information corresponding to the matched query.
