Publication number: 20250022381Abstract: A system comprising: communications circuitry; a user interface (UI); and processing circuitry disposed within an ownship vehicle, the processing circuitry being configured to: receive, via the communications circuitry, one or more first locations of an ownship vehicle; receive, via the communications circuitry, one or more second locations of a second vehicle; determine, based at least in part on the one or more first locations and the one or more second locations, whether the second vehicle satisfies a threshold condition; in response to determining that the second vehicle satisfies the threshold condition, cause the UI to output an alert corresponding to the second vehicle; and in response to determining that the second vehicle does not satisfy the threshold condition, cause the UI to not output the alert.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 11, 2023Publication date: January 16, 2025Inventors: Jan Flasar, Martin Puskar, Tomas Kralicek

Patent number: 11955014Abstract: An ADS-B traffic filter to remove ADS-B positional messages or tracks with unstable ADS-B data or anomalies. The anomaly in ADS-B data can be caused by own ship ADS-B data processing and by errors in ADS-B OUT messages, such as positional outliers, ADS-B OUT parameters gaps, frozen data, walking track when stopped and other issues within ADS-B OUT messages. The ADS-B traffic filter of this disclosure may remove erroneous ADS-B targets from computation input delivered to a traffic collision warning systems in locations where high horizontal position accuracy is desirable such as ground operations. The filter may validate positions decoded from received ADS-B OUT messages, and data history of targets, to independent signal components from ADS-B broadcast (e.g., position and ground speed data), as well as compare the reported position with a reasonability bound provided by local runway or airport geometry data.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 2022Date of Patent: April 9, 2024Assignee: Honeywell International s.r.o.Inventors: Martin Puskar, Jan Flasar, Tomas Kralicek, Stephane Marche, Gang He

The ADS-B traffic filter of this disclosure may remove erroneous ADS-B targets from computation input delivered to a traffic collision warning systems in locations where high horizontal position accuracy is desirable such as ground operations. The filter may validate and compare positions decoded from received ADS-B OUT messages, and short duration data history of targets, to independent signal components from ADS-B broadcast (e.g., position and ground speed data), as well as compare the reported position with a reasonability bound provided by local runway or airport geometry data.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 31, 2022Publication date: August 3, 2023Inventors: Martin Puskar, Jan Flasar, Tomas Kralicek, Stephane Marche, Gang He

Patent number: 9561865Abstract: Systems and methods for displaying a location reference indicator (LRI) associated with an ownship icon are provided. In various embodiments, an airport moving map (AMM) is displayed, and the ownship icon is displayed in the AMM, where the ownship icon represents the ownship. A degree of zoom of the AMM is determined. In response to a determination that the degree of zoom is not within a range of center referenced threshold values, a first LRI is displayed that indicates that the icon representing the ownship is not to scale with other objects displayed in the AMM. In response to a determination that the degree of zoom is within the range of center referenced threshold values, a second LRI is displayed.Type: GrantFiled: February 16, 2015Date of Patent: February 7, 2017Assignee: HONEYWELL INTERNATIONAL INC.Inventors: Tomas Marczi, Jan Flasar, Juliana Sevcikova, Christine Marie Haissig, Stephen Whitlow, Kevin J Conner, John Howard Glover

Patent number: 8604942Abstract: Avionics display system is provided for deployment onboard an aircraft and includes an air traffic data source that provides the avionics display system with data indicative of at least position and velocity of a neighboring aircraft. The system comprises a cockpit display system, and a monitor included within the cockpit display system. The cockpit display system receives and displays position and velocity data pertaining to the neighboring aircraft on the cockpit monitor as a position symbol and a velocity vector graphic. A processor operatively coupled to the monitor is configured to generate an air traffic display on the monitor including symbology indicative of (1) the current position of the neighboring aircraft (2) a velocity of the neighboring aircraft, and (3) the rate-of-change of the velocity of the neighboring aircraft.Type: GrantFiled: November 8, 2011Date of Patent: December 10, 2013Assignee: Honeywell International Inc.Inventors: Stephen Whitlow, Jan Flasar, Trent Reusser

Publication number: 20130201037Abstract: A method and system are described for enhancing ground situational awareness to an aircrew via the display of an air traffic control ground clearance, including displaying a symbol for each stage of the clearance and highlighting each symbol when the aircraft occupies that stage. A stage is highlighted when the aircraft is to hold short of that stage. Additional highlights may be included as an alert.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 6, 2012Publication date: August 8, 2013Applicant: HONEYWELL INTERNATIONAL INC.Inventors: J.
