  • Publication number: 20170341820
Abstract: A disposable piping bag comprising a pair of side panels having joined side edges, the bag having a substantially conical configuration, the side edges extending downward to a sealed or unsealed tip and extending upward to an opening along upper edges incorporating an integral resealable closure in the side panels. The resealable closure has corresponding and adjacent lengths of a closure having one or more mating male ribs and female sealing channels on the side panels extending along a width of the bag opening. In one embodiment, the piping bag has a configuration with a substantially frusto-conical lower portion, a substantially cylindrical mid-portion, and a substantially frusto-conical upper portion.

  • Patent number: 8870040
Abstract: A two part nozzle for use in expressing thick, viscous materials therethrough comprises a nozzle base and a nozzle tip, and screw means for mounting the tip to the base. The base projects within the tip, and is proportioned to interfere with the inside wall of the tip around a narrow, continuous path, thereby providing an internal seal with the interior wall surface of a pouch to which the nozzle is coupled to prevent the back-flow of material through the screw means. Preferably, the nozzle also provides a seal on the external wall surface of the pouch, thereby reducing the possibility of material leaking both from and into the pouch. Gripping ribs are provided to facilitate the application of a manual force to couple and decouple the nozzle parts.

  • Publication number: 20140065272
Abstract: A nozzle panel for holding bakery accessories comprising a flat panel base, a plurality of panel protrusions integral with the panel base and at least one bakery accessory attachable to the panel protrusions on the panel base. The panel protrusion includes a lip engagable with a bakery nozzle. The panel protrusion lip may be an interrupted helical thread attached to the panel protrusion, at least one nozzle engagable with the panel protrusion by twisting the nozzle relative to the panel base less than 360° . The nozzle may include an inwardly extending interrupted helical thread adjacent a bottom edge of the nozzle and may be rotatably engagable with the interrupted thread of panel protrusion. The nozzle panel may include at least one container attachable to the panel protrusion. The container may be cylindrical and include an opening at one end and a removable lid engagable with the opening.

  • Patent number: 7181806
Abstract: A plastic clip comprising two jaws united at one end by a hinge permitting them to swing between open and closed positions. The hinge may suitably be of the box type including a hinge blade associated with one jaw that is mounted between opposed cheeks associated with the other jaw by a hinge pin received in an elongated bearing opening in the cheeks, and along which the pin may travel to adjust the nip of the jaws. A spring latch at the opposite end of the jaws preferably permits a plurality of latching positions so as to permit the nip of the jaws at that end to be varied. The elongated bearing opening may permit the assembly of the jaws even where the box structure is relatively rigid and where the pin is integrally formed with the hinge blade.

  • Patent number: 7131169
Abstract: A molded clip for closing bags and the like includes a pair of claws with a latch and a hinge at opposed ends. The hinge extends rearwardly from the jaws and includes a hinge bearing with a rearwardly facing opening of restricted diameter thereto. The other jaw includes a fixed hinge pin which may be snap engaged into the bearing by resilient passage through the opening. Where the jaws are relatively large, they may be provided with cooperating shoulders that restrict axial movement of the jaws under reactively generated forces. In accordance with one embodiment, one of the jaws is double sided, and the clip may be assembled with either of these sides confronting the other jaw to provide different clip functions.

  • Patent number: 7062822
Abstract: A clip comprising a pair of jaws each having an axially extending pressure surface, and resilient hinge arms hinged together from which the jaws are cantilevered for movement between a closed position in which the pressure surfaces are in facing opposition and an open position, and latch means for retaining the jaws closed. When the jaws are moved towards their closed position with a suitably thick object disposed therebetween, they will initially contact the object at a point and then rotate about that point, causing the hinge arms to stretch and thereby increase the spacing between the pressure surfaces, whereby they may be closed with a strong and relatively uniform clamping pressure about the object.

  • Patent number: 6971611
Abstract: A stand for supporting an open-ended conical plastic bag, has an upper rim portion, over which a portion of the bag open end may be folded, in securing relation; a like lower rim portion supports the stand in stable, self-supporting relation. The stand consists of two identical segment portions, which clip together. Each segment has first and second longitudinal ribs joining the opposed rim portions. Almost half the length of each first rib is arcuately recessed to secure a corresponding length of the other first rib, when reversed, in entered relation within the recess. The arcuate recess has protruding ear portions which serve as clips for securing the entered other first rib, which ear portions also engage the sides of protrusions of the other first rib to stabilize it in the recess. Other local first rib protrusions enter into corresponding recesses located in the bottom of the opposed first rib arcuate recess.

  • Patent number: 6925689
Abstract: A clip comprising a pair of jaws connected by a fulcrum for pivotal movement between opposed positions and an arched spring associated with each jaw for biasing the jaws to one position. Each jaw may be molded unitarily with its associated spring and a part of the fulcrum, the fulcrum parts snap fitting together. The arched springs are mounted in back to back relation, and are suitably connected to the jaws by a living hinge. Actuation of the jaws deflects the springs, causing a rolling contact therebetween, with little frictional loss.

  • Publication number: 20050170051
Abstract: Piping bags including a nozzle base portion that is inserted into a disposable pouch through the fill opening and pulled into wedged, sealed position within the pouch. The nozzle base portion is provided with surface dislocations which resist the dislodgement of the nozzle base under the influence of various forces to which it is or may be subjected, without resorting to welding or the like. Accordingly, the nozzle may be easily engaged with and removed from the pouch of the piping bag in a domestic or small-scale commercial environment without marring, and re-used with a fresh pouch. The nozzle may also include a cap portion which is selectively matable with the base portion, and which serves inter alia to trap portions of the pouch to resist the dislodgement of the nozzle. The pouch itself may suitably form a security seal where the bag is distributed in a filled condition.

  • Publication number: 20020153468
Abstract: A bag useful for forming ice cubes or the like has a pouch-like fill chamber which may extend across the whole of the width of the bag. The fill chamber has an outlet opening connecting to the interior of the bags which comprises at least two passageways in parallel relationship. An internal seal is provided to isolate the fill chamber from the interior of the bag. The seal may comprise a zip type fastener, or a simple flap valve disposed in each of the passageways. The arrangement facilitates the handling of the bags to permit larger bags that may be filled more rapidly and with little or no air trapped within the bag, in comparison to other known bags.

  • Patent number: 6058572
Abstract: A reusable clip for closing plastic bags comprises a pair of jaws which are hinged together, and a releasable latch. One of the jaws is provided with a rib, the other a channel within which the rib is received, wherein at least one of the rib and channelled jaw being formed in medial portions with a lacuna as seen in profile, with a clearance between such medial portions when the jaws are closed. The lacuna assists in locating the clip relative to the bag, and permits the gathering of the neck of the bag whereby a substantial reduction in the size of the clip is possible in comparison to prior art clips.
