  • Publication number: 20210368446
Abstract: Described herein are systems and methods to increase battery life of a user equipment (UE) by reducing the amount of time a UE spends in active time listening for paging messages following mobile originate (MO) or mobile terminated (MT) data transfers. A network node may receive, from a UE, a message including an identifier of the UE and a request to set the duration of an active time timer to zero. The network node may determine whether any MT traffic is available for the UE, and send a message to the UE including the duration of the active time timer or some other indicator to indicate to the UE whether or not MT data is awaiting transmission.

  • Patent number: 11116018
Abstract: In some examples, a device detects a calling identifier received as part of initiating a call matches an emergency identifier, the emergency identifier associated with information from which to derive a Uniform Resource Name (URN). The device detects that the device is attached to or registered a first network different from a second network, where the second network configured the emergency identifier. In response to detecting that the device is attached to or registered the first network different from the second network, the device includes a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) in a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) INVITE message to be transmitted.

  • Publication number: 20210185508
Abstract: A method for steering of roaming (SOR) in wireless communication networks includes sending by a mobile equipment (ME) a registration message to a visited public land mobile network (VPLMN). The ME receives a first message from a home public land mobile network (HPLMN) through the VPLMN. The ME determines that the first message has failed a security check. In response to determining that the first message has failed the security check, the ME sends a second message to the VPLMN, the second message including an indication that the first message has failed the security check.

  • Publication number: 20210112394
Abstract: In some examples, a user equipment (UE) is capable of dual registration with a first core network and a second core network. The UE receives a first indication during a first registration of the UE via a first access network with the first core network, determines based on the first indication that emergency services are not supported by the first core network, attempts a second registration via a second access network with the second core network, detects an emergency indication, and initiates a call in response to the emergency indication via a second access network different from the first access network.

  • Patent number: RE48696
Abstract: In one aspect, an application server (AS) node comprises a processor configured to receive a first SIP Invite request from the UE device, the first SIP Invite request having call information which includes a URI of a called party and data indicating that the first SIP Invite request is for a bearer over a circuit-switched (CS) network. An E.164 number is associated with the call information in the first SIP Invite request and a SIP response including the E.164 number is sent to the UE device in response to receiving the first SIP Invite request. When a call setup message including the E.164 number received from the CS network, the received E.164 number is verified if it is valid and if so, the call information is identified based on the E.164 number and is sent to the called party via a second SIP Invite request.
