    Abstract: A method for manufacturing bands of bituminized roofing material, wherein a band of porous carrier material is impregnated with bitumen, wherein the band of porous carrier material is provided on a supporting surface provided with openings, hot bitumen is provided on the side of the band of carrier material remote from the supporting surface, and a pressure difference is created across the supporting surface, so that the hot bitumen penetrates into the carrier material.

    Abstract: A bituminous roof covering material, particularly suitable for use as first layer in a multilayer roof covering system which is applied while adding heat. The material comprises a carrier provided on both sides with a bituminous layer and with a layer formed by a perforated metal foil. According to the invention, the carrier and the bituminous layers applied thereto on both sides are closed layers without perforations, and the bituminous layer interposed between the perforated layer and the carrier consists of adhesion-active bituminous material.

The roofing material can be manufactured by finishing one side of a perforated bituminized carrier with fine sprinkling material and coating the other side with an imperforate metal foil, and subsequently removing the metal foil at the perforations.
