    Abstract: In a device for aligning and guiding a reciprocatingly movable drill rod (11) for drillling a hole (A', B') through at least either the tibia (B) or the femur (A) forming the knee joint, the hole being intended to receive one end of an anterior cruicate ligament, which is then attached to the bone. The device includes a first tube-like aligning and guiding element (5) which is intended to be introduced into and aligned in the space between the condyles of the femur (A) over the plateau of the tibia (B) and the ends of which are spaced apart at a distance corresponding to the length of the cruciate ligament, and a second aligning and guiding element (9) which is in line with the first element and located externally of the aforementioned space, and which is located from the first element at a distance which is at least partially bridged by a part of the tibia or femur located adjacent the space.

    Abstract: An instrument for measuring the distance between bone parts in a knee joint, particularly the distance between both femoral condyles (A', A") at the knee end of the femur (A), the instrument including a first element (3, 4, 12) with a first abutment surface (5), which is intended to be brought into engagement against one bone part (A'), and a second element (7, 9), which is displaceably mounted in the first element and at one end is provided with a second abutment surface (2) intended for being brought into engagement against the second bone part (A", C) there also being a scale (10) with an index for indicating the displacement of the second element in relation to the first element. The first element includes a tube (3, 4) bent at substantially a right angle, with the first abutment surface (5) situated on the outside of the bend.
