  • Patent number: 8057786
Abstract: The present invention relates to cosmetic and/or dermatological compositions for the treatment of keratin containing substrates, comprising synergistic mixtures of modified starch polymers with defined molecular weights and cationic charges in a cosmetically acceptable medium. The synergistic mixtures of modified starches employed to manufacture compositions according to the present invention exhibit significant benefits over the existing modified starches employed according to the state-of-the-art in the treatment of keratin-containing substrates like human or animal hair, skin and nails. Another aspect of the present invention is the stabilization of the modified starch solutions used to manufacture the cosmetic and/or dermatological compositions according to the present invention against the growth of micro-organisms without traditional preservatives.

  • Patent number: 7115792
Abstract: The present invention is a scar-reducing plaster and a method for preparing scar-reducing plasters. The scar-reducing plasters comprise a backing film comprising an air- and water vapor-pervious and water-impervious polymer layer, and a breathable and adhesive polyurethane xerogel matrix layer that coats the backing film. The polyurethane xerogel matrix layer includes a central scar contact region and an edge region, wherein the scar contact region merges with the edge region and the thickness of the edge region decreases from the scar contact region to a thickness of from 5 to 150 ?m at the edge of the polyurethane xerogel matrix layer. The scar-reducing plasters of the present invention have a reduced tendency to peel off during normal use.
