    Abstract: A sprayable composition suitable for releasing an active substance by vaporisation, comprises a dispersion of the active substance and a non-phytotoxic waxy substance such as a long-chain fatty acid in an aqueous solvent containing a primary stabiliser such as polyvinyl alcohol and optionally a binder such as sodium alginate. The composition is produced by (a) dissolving an active ingredient in the waxy substance, (b) dispersing the solution in an aqueous solvent containing the primary stabiliser, and (c) adding the binder, and optionally diluting the dispersion obtained in (b).

    Abstract: The present invention relates to compositions for controlling pests, such as insects, including an effective amount of a biological controlling agent, a degradable matrix, and a UV absorber. The UV absorber is bound to the degradable matrix, and preferably the absorber absorbs at a wavelength in the range of 280-400 nm. A cross-linking agent may be employed as well.
