  • Publication number: 20210393572
Abstract: According to embodiments herein, pharmaceutically active Cannabis-based compositions and methods of use for treating gastrointestinal conditions are provided. More specifically, a cannabis-based pharmaceutical composition and methods of use is provided, the composition comprising at least one cannabinoid and at least one motility agent. Without being limited by theory, the present compositions and methods of use may serve to either augment the positive or desired effects of the at least one cannabinoid constituent, and/or may serve to mitigate the negative or undesired effects of same, resulting in an improved Cannabis-based composition for treating, mitigating, or alleviating the symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome or irritable bowel syndrome-related disorders.

  • Patent number: 8116882
Abstract: An implantable adjustable body tissue cuff, apparatus and method. The cuff is an elastomeric strap of biocompatible non-conductive material. The strap's tail and head provide adjustable length fastening by a) the tail being formed with longitudinally spaced, laterally paired locking projections and the head being formed with one or more locking apertures; or b) the tail being formed with longitudinally spaced locking apertures and the head being formed with one or more laterally paired locking projections. The locking projection shape allows for passage through the locking aperture, while restricting movement in a reverse direction. The cuff accommodates devices such as tissue stimulators or recorders, with conductive elements attached, imbedded, or printed on the strap body. The cuff is intra-operatively adjusted to optimize placement and contact between conductive elements and body tissue, without tissue damage.

  • Patent number: 7837599
Abstract: The invention provides a method and apparatus to enable a user to perform upper extremity exercises. The apparatus includes an arm with one end connected to a base to securely support the arm while locating the other end adjacent to the user, proximate the user's upper extremities. The arm is formed with a plurality of joints at or between its ends, each joint having one or more rotational degrees of freedom while providing resistance to rotational movement in the one or more degrees of freedom, such that the free end of the arm can be moved in three dimensional space, and such that the arm is self-supporting. A manipulandum assembly including a plurality of manipulanda is attached to the free end of the arm, each manipulandum being positioned within hand grasping range of the user, and each manipulandum being or representing an object encountered in an upper extremity activity of the user's daily life.
