Publication number: 20080129083Abstract: Recently, at least some parts of exterior components of vehicles have been made of plastic as well by back-molding lacquer films with plastic. A large number of such exterior components require transparent areas which are produced separately and are inserted into die-cut zones of the component. Said method requires a lot of effort while joints are difficult to prevent. The aim of the invention therefore is to create a component that can be produced in a simpler manner and without creating gaps as well as an adequate method for the production thereof. Said aim is achieved by introducing a hole into the film for the transparent area, inserting said film into the component mold, and then back-molding the same with a transparent plastic material in the mold such that the hole is filled with the transparent plastic material.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 10, 2005Publication date: June 5, 2008Applicant: DaimlerChrysler AGInventors: Jan Krueger, Margit Veeh

Publication number: 20070205043Abstract: An active muffler (1) for an exhaust system (2) of an internal combustion engine has a first space (3) and a second space (4) that is separated from the former via a partition (5). The partition (5) has a wall opening (6) into which is inserted an electronic sound absorber (7) having a chassis (8) and a diaphragm (9).
