  • Milkmeter for determining the weight of the quantity of milk issued by a cow during milking

    Abstract: The milkmeter has a truncated cone shaped float and measuring container with the ratio of the smallest diameters of the truncated cones being equal to the ratio of their largest diameters. The float is suspended by its top. The meter measures accurately constant milk weights irrespective of the quantity of air in the milk. The float is more stable than a cylindrical one and the meter is more accurate because of a very small volume below the float in the rest position.

  • Apparatus for removing a milking cluster, particularly for a cow-shed

    Abstract: This removal apparatus comprises a bellows-shaped hose as the lifting element, which contracts under the influence of the vacuum in the milking conduit and then constitutes a rigid element, which may easily be manipulated and displaced. Moreover the apparatus is less expensive than the known removal apparatus.

  • Apparatus for removing a milking set of a milking machine, particularly for a cow-shed

    Abstract: A milking cluster is provided with a vertically suspended cylinder in which a movable piston is located. A lifting cord is attached at one end to the milking cluster and at the other end to the upper face of the piston. It extends upwardly from the piston, leaving the upper end of the cylinder and is guided over a pulley thereafter extending downwardly to the milking cluster. The apparatus includes a milk flow indicator.

  • Milkmeter measuring the weight of the quantity of milk issued by a cow, and device for taking samples adapted for use with said milkmeter

    Abstract: The milk weight is accurately determined by a vertical elongate float (6, 46) in the measuring container (1) cooperating with a stationary switch (10). This switch actuates the supply (3) and discharge (5) valves in the container when the float reaches its uppermost position and at the same time issues a signal to a registration counter (not shown) for the milk quantities received in the container.The sampling device either has a sample holder (8) below the measuring container (1), comprising a sample receiving volume (11) with open upper end, or an aperture (52) in the discharge valve (49) seat (50). Thereby in operation a proportional portion of the milk quantities passing through the measuring container (1) is collected in a mixing beaker (23), from which a sample bottle (28) may be filled.
