Abstract: A control unit for a user interface of a motor vehicle comprising a system on a chip having a main processor and a flash memory arrangement that can be used by the system on a chip, wherein the system on a chip comprises a hypervisor that implements a first virtual machine and a second virtual machine. The first virtual machine is configured to execute a first function, associated with a driving operation of the motor vehicle. The second virtual machine is configured to execute a second function, the second function being an infotainment function for the user, wherein at least one of an availability requirement, a safety requirement, a robustness requirement, or a drive readiness requirement for the first function is higher than the second function.
