    Abstract: A wedging clamp assembly is provided for retaining a saw blade. A housing defining a vertical cavity therein is included in the assembly. The cavity includes a top end and a bottom end tapered with respect to the top end. Extending through a bottom end of the housing is a saw blade passageway included in the bottom end of the cavity. Disposed inside the cavity is a saw blade retention mechanism. A piston is further disposed within the cavity. The saw blade retention mechanism is configured for lockingly retaining a saw blade upon insertion into the passageway, thus, causing the piston to be biased against the bottom end of the cavity. At least one locking element is further included in the saw blade retention mechanism, and such locking element is disposed in the cavity for engaging the bottom tapered end. A wedging clamping force exerted by the at least one locking element is applied to the saw blade, and such force renders the saw blade immobile relative to the housing.

    Abstract: A circular saw includes a clutch assembly to surround the rotating blade shaft of the saw. The blade shaft is rotated by a shaft having a gear at one end. The clutch assembly includes a clutch gear to engage with the rotating pinion. The clutch gear is held to the blade shaft by a shaft washer that has a frictional material laminated to one end. The shaft washer is pressed to the clutch gear by spring washers.

    Abstract: Transmission between electric motor and tool shaft, for instance for hand tools such as an electric screwdriver and the like, which transmission is provided with an adjustable breaking coupling for discontinuing the drive torque on the tool shaft when a predetermined resistance moment on this tool shaft is exceeded, wherein the breaking coupling in the form of two mutually slidable parts is provided with a signal generator for controlling a member influencing the motor feed, which signal generator comes into operation as soon as the two parts slide relative to one another when the set torque is exceeded, so that a disengagement takes place between motor and tool shaft immediately after the desired resistance moment is exceeded, wherein the inertia of the rotating parts no longer has any effect on the tool shaft so that it stops immediately.

    Abstract: The invention relates to an electric hand tool comprising a housing, a reciprocating carrier for an operating member drivable by means of an electric motor placed in the housing, wherein the carrier is guided by at least two guide members fixed in the housing, wherein the guide members each comprise two guides placed on either side of the carrier, wherein one of the guides is fixedly attached and the other guide is provided with means for urging the guide against the carrier.The occurrence of play, wear, noise nuisance and vibrations is thus avoided.According to a preferred embodiment, both guides forming part of a guide member are formed by guide rollers received in a frame and the frame is fixedly mounted by means of a shaft extending through one of the guide wheels and a spring is placed between the housing and the frame such that the spring urges the other guide wheel into contact with the carrier.

    Abstract: A surface sander having a housing with a handle and a motor with a motor shaft arranged in a bearing of a sanding foot which is connected through a flexible body with the housing, is disclosed. A dust hood encloses the motor, the housing, the flexible body and the sanding foot. Two parts of the hood are mutually lockable, and the flexible body has an upper annular rim which can be clamped between a bottom rim of the motor housing and the dust hood parts. A lower annular rim is fastened to the sanding foot and a number of spring strips connects the upper annular rim to the lower annular rim, so that the sanding foot can be mounted on the machine in a simple manner by the dust hood without the need for additional fastening devices.

Electrical connection between the commutator and current supply is ensured by multiple pairs of diametrically opposed carbon brushes of opposite polarity, the brushes being supported in the machine housing such that each respective pair of brushes can be separately brought into contact with the commutator by a lever capable of engaging the respective pairs of brushes. Various holder configurations support the brushes.

One end of the spindle is adapted to fasten to a tool piece and the other end is connected to an oscillating percussion body movable in the housing by means of a guideway. A drive shaft rotates the tool spindle into rotation or actuates the percussion body via a transmission that is provided with means for converting the rotary motion of the drive shaft into an oscillatory motion of a drive member. The drive member is connected to the precussion body through an elastic member having a non-linear spring characteristic.
