  • Publication number: 20240384421
Abstract: The present invention relates to a steam electrolysis system for the production of hydrogen. The system comprises at least one steam electrolyser cell, at least one feeding gas arrangement comprising at least one electric steam generator, at least one feeding gas supply route for supplying a flow of feeding gas comprising at least steam from the at least one feeding gas arrangement to the at least one steam electrolyser cell, at least one gas moving device for removing hydrogen from the at least one steam electrolyser cell, and at least one external power supply source for operating the system. The at least one external power supply is electrically coupled to the at least one electric steam generator of the feeding gas arrangement and to the least one steam electrolyser cell. The at least one steam electrolyser cell and the at least one electric steam generator are electrically connected in parallel.

  • Publication number: 20110127169
Abstract: A solid oxide reactor provided with an electrode structure comprising a first electrode, a second electrode (6; 26), a first gas chamber (V1 ), a second gas chamber and an ion-conductive medium (8), wherein an ion-conductive medium is located between the first electrode (2) and the second electrode, wherein furthermore, the first electrode borders on the first gas chamber, and the second electrode borders on the second gas chamber. The first electrode comprises a first layer of a conductive oxide material, the conductive oxide material being composed of at least one electron-conducting oxide material provided with a defective structure and one ion-conductive oxide material provided with a defective structure. The second electrode comprises a first layer of a conductive oxide material, the conductive oxide material being composed of at least one electron-conductive oxide material provided with a defective structure and one ion-conductive oxide material provided with a defective structure.

  • Patent number: 6663999
Abstract: Electrochemical cell on the basis of electrode-supported thin electrolyte includes an anodic support (1) consisting of a nickel/zirconia material and an electrolyte layer (3) disposed that includes zirconia thereon and a cathode layer (6) which is in turn disposed thereon. To improve the quality of the cell and to increase the output it is proposed to arrange an auxiliary or intermediate layer (2) between the electrolyte layer and the anodic support. This auxiliary layer consists of nickel and zirconia particles which are substantially smaller than the particles of the support. Then an electrolyte layer (10) and, on the other side of the anodic support, a current collector layer are applied. None of these layers are sintered. Only after an assembly obtained in this manner has been obtained is a sintering treatment carried out.
