    Abstract: Process for upgrading wood parts, wherein the wood parts in a hydrothermolysis step are brought under the influence of saturated steam at a temperature in the range of 130-220° C., such that a conversion of hemicellulose and lignin present in the wood parts takes place, wherein the wood parts are subsequently dried in a curing step to a moisture content which is lower than about 3 wt. % at a temperature in the range of 100-220° C., wherein the wood parts at the start of the hydrothermolysis step have an initial moisture content which is in the range of 10-25 wt. %.
