  • Publication number: 20230228785
Abstract: A sensor system for a bicycle. The system system includes a magnetic field sensor and an acceleration sensor unit having at least one acceleration sensor, and an evaluation unit that is designed to acquire signals from the magnetic field sensor and the acceleration sensor unit. The magnetic field sensor and the acceleration sensor unit are designed for attachment to a wheel of the bicycle. The magnetic field sensor and the acceleration sensor unit are fixed relative to each other and are situated at a predefined distance with respect to an axis of rotation. The evaluation unit is designed to evaluate the signals of the magnetic field sensor and the acceleration sensor unit to ascertain a rotational speed and/or orientation of the magnetic field sensor and/or acceleration sensor unit with respect to the axis of rotation.

  • Publication number: 20230192219
Abstract: A method for plausibilizing a sensor signal of a single-track vehicle. The method includes: estimating gear ratios between a wheel speed of a wheel and a pedaling frequency of a pedal of a pedal unit and/or a drive speed of a drive of the single-track vehicle at multiple points in time; ascertaining a value of a reliability indicator based on the estimated gear ratios, the value of the reliability indicator being ascertained with the aid of a statistical parameter, in particular a variance, of the estimated gear ratios and/or a histogram of the estimated gear ratios; and plausibilizing the sensor signal based on a comparison of the value of the reliability indicator with a threshold value, the threshold value corresponding to a maximally permissible value of the reliability indicator.

  • Publication number: 20230086000
Abstract: A method described and device to rapidly detect the accident-related removal of a mobile user terminal from a holder and to generate corresponding information which characterizes the fall or crash related to the accident. Rotation-rate sensor variables and acceleration variables of the mobile user terminal are acquired. A rotation or twisting of the mobile user terminal is detected in that the currently acquired and/or integrated rotation-rate sensor variables are compared to past values and/or threshold values. A movement of the mobile user terminal is detected on the basis of the currently acquired and/or integrated acceleration variables. A comparison with past values and/or threshold values may optionally also be carried out. The determination of an in particular accident-related crash of the vehicle and/or the fall of the mobile user terminal out of the holder then takes place due to the detected rotation and the detected movement.

  • Publication number: 20230085552
Abstract: A method for checking the plausibility of accident situations involving a two-wheeled vehicle, a device for carrying out this method, and a two-wheeled vehicle comprising a device of this kind. In the method, it is checked, i.e., reviewed, whether it is plausible to output the accident information, in order to avoid unnecessary or even incorrect calls for help.

  • Publication number: 20230057497
Abstract: A method for classifying an accident event of a two-wheeled vehicle, in particular a bicycle. The method can be run in the form of an algorithm in a device comprising an analysis unit in order to indicate to the rider or a third party that the two-wheeled vehicle has been involved in a collision or has fallen over using a corresponding generated and/or transmitted item of information. The device can be used in a two-wheeled vehicle, such as a bicycle or in particular in an electric bicycle. However, it can of course also be used in a motorcycle or another single-track vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20230026459
Abstract: A method for classifying an accident event of a two-wheeled vehicle, in particular a bicycle. The method is able to run as an algorithm on a device having an evaluation unit in order to indicate to the driver of the two-wheeled vehicle or to a third party a collision or fall of the two-wheeled vehicle with the aid of correspondingly generated and/or transmitted information. The device may be used for a two-wheeled vehicle such as a bicycle and in particular for an electric bicycle. The use is naturally also possible for a motorcycle or some other single-track vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20220340224
Abstract: A method for ascertaining a state of operating dynamics of a bicycle. The method includes: providing signals regarding an acceleration in at least one spatial direction and regarding a rate of rotation about at least one spatial direction, with the aid of an inertial measuring device; providing speed signals of an incremental encoder; and ascertaining the state of operating dynamics on the basis of an estimation method, in light of the provided signals; the current riding state being ascertained, and in the case of a dead stop of the bicycle as a current, ascertained riding state, substitute speed signals being provided in place of the speed signals of the incremental encoder, in order to estimate the state of operating dynamics for the estimation method.
