  • Patent number: 11891058
Abstract: A control unit for a vehicle is designed to detect movement sensor data with regard to a movement of at least one component of the vehicle. The movement is or has been effected by a roadway driven upon by the vehicle. In addition, the control unit is designed to detect a lane boundary of the roadway on the basis of movement sensor data and, in reaction thereto, to cause a functional reaction of the vehicle.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 1, 2019
Date of Patent: February 6, 2024
    Assignee: Bayerische Motoren Werke Aktiengesellschaft
    Inventor: Jan-Ullrich Schamburek
  • Patent number: 11807238
Abstract: A driving assistance system for a vehicle includes a reception unit that is configured so as to receive surroundings data of the vehicle, an evaluation unit that is configured, based on the surroundings data, so as to determine a traffic density in a surrounding area of the vehicle, and a determination unit that is configured so as to establish a confidence for the traffic density determined by the evaluation unit.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 23, 2019
Date of Patent: November 7, 2023
    Assignee: Bayerische Motoren Werke Aktiengesellschaft
    Inventors: Sonila Dobi, Jan-Ullrich Schamburek
  • Patent number: 11598648
Abstract: A method detects a lane for a transverse guidance of a vehicle. The transverse guidance of the vehicle is based on a roadway model. The method has the steps of ascertaining one or more features which are suitable for influencing the detection of the lane; detecting a lane on the basis of a sensor system of the vehicle; and ascertaining the roadway model on the basis of the detected lane and the ascertained one or more features. The method optionally has the steps of additionally receiving navigation data and transversely guiding the vehicle on the basis of the ascertained roadway model.
