  • Patent number: 5184089
Abstract: A differential amplifier having output current limiting includes; first and second transistors (T.sub.1, T.sub.2) and first and second output terminals (1, 10) coupled to a first main electrode of the respective first and second transistors first current terminal (5) is coupled to a second current terminal (15) first and second diodes (D.sub.1, D.sub.2) have their anodes coupled to respective second main electrodes of the first and second transistors and their cathodes coupled to the first and second current terminals first and second current sources are coupled to the second main electrodes of the respective first and second transistors for applying first and second currents (I.sub.1, I.sub.2), to the first and second transistors. Third and fourth current sources are coupled to the first and second current terminals for applying third and fourth currents (I.sub.3, I.sub.4) to the first and second current terminals. Reference voltages are applied to the control electrodes of the first and second transistors.
