  • Patent number: 11560953
Abstract: An anti-free-flow valve includes a tube and a membrane. The tube extends from a first end of the tube to a second end of the tube. The tube defines a hollow cavity. The membrane is attached to an interior surface of the tube and extends across the hollow cavity to obstruct fluid flow through the hollow cavity. The membrane is spaced apart from the first and second ends of the tube. The membrane defines a slit therethrough that is configured to transition from a closed state that restricts fluid flow to an open state that permits fluid flow through the slit responsive to compression or expansion of the tube proximate to the membrane.

  • Patent number: 11491085
Abstract: A transfer device 2 for fluid transmission from a storage bottle 1 to a receiving unit, comprising at least one housing with a housing insert or inset which comprises at least one transfer needle 8, 9 and a needle protector. To ensure sufficient safety for the personnel, a new transfer device 2 is suggested which is suited for screwing on a disposable syringe 3 and may be directly connected to a storage bottle 1. Here, the transfer device 2 consists of only few elements which on the one hand ensure a reliable function and on the other hand prevent any contact with toxic medicine. To this end, the housing has a tubular design and has at one end an open cylinder section with at least one locking unit for a storage bottle 1, and at the other end an opening for a housing insert.

  • Patent number: 11292640
Abstract: A device is described for facilitating the preparation of therapeutic foam e.g. for the treatment of varicose veins. A pressurised vial contains a sclerosant liquid, e.g., polidocanol solution, and a sterile gas which is readily absorbed by the body, e.g., carbon dioxide, oxygen or a mixture of these gases. The vial is provided either with a specialised stopper/seal into which a syringe nozzle may be inserted or alternatively a septum seal which may be penetrated by a hypodermic needle. The quantities of gas and liquid and the pressure in the vial are pre-set so that, on connection of a syringe to the vial, a predetermined volume of both gas and liquid is transferred to the syringe, with the intention that the syringe is then used to make a foam by known means. The use of the vial ensures that the ratio of gas to liquid in the foam is standardised, and also provides a convenient way of packaging the gas and liquid and of filling the syringe in a sterile manner.

  • Publication number: 20210315779
Abstract: An enteral feeding valve assembly includes a housing assembly that is fluidly coupled with an upstream line and a downstream line. A diverging conduit inwardly extends from an inlet and a primary conduit inwardly extends from an outlet of the housing. The diverging conduit splits into a bypass conduit and a flow-through conduit. The flow-through conduit is fluidly coupled with the primary conduit by a check valve. A plunger valve includes one or more plunger conduits and moves in a first direction to fluidly couple the inlet with the primary conduit and the outlet via the bypass conduit and the one or more plunger conduits. The plunger valve moves in a second direction to de-couple the inlet from the primary conduit and the outlet via the bypass conduit and the one or more plunger conduits. The flow-through conduit directs the fluid to the outlet through the check valve.

  • Publication number: 20160106909
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus and a method for simultaneous multiple medicine administration. The apparatus according to the invention comprises a housing in which at least two entry chambers and a collecting point are formed, wherein each entry chamber communicates with the collecting point via a flow path respectively and wherein in each flow path at least one penetration member is arranged, which causes a decrease in pressure downstream to the penetration member with respect to the pressure upstream to the penetration member. According to the method of the invention the independency of flow rates is eliminated irrespective of the equipment that is used, wherein a fluid is fed to a collecting point via separate flow paths and at least one penetration member is arranged within each flow path causing a decrease in pressure downstream to the penetration member with respect to the pressure upstream to the penetration member.
