    Abstract: A gateway system is described for use as a gateway between a client device and a remote server. The client device may stream a data stream via the gateway system to the remote server for remote processing. The gateway system may receive the data stream and markers which identify respective blocks of packets in the data stream, wherein each identified block of packets is independently processable. In response to an instruction or configuration to effect a migration of the remote processing from the remote server to a further remote server, the gateway system may determine a block of packets in the data stream from which block of packets onwards the further remote server is to start processing the data stream so as to effect or initialize the migration, and when received, stream the determined block of packets and subsequent blocks of packets of the data stream to the further remote server.

    Abstract: A streaming assistance system may be provided which may be connected to at least two network links, for example via respective network interfaces. Both network links may have different characteristics, e.g., in terms of throughput, utilization, latency, etc. The streaming assistance system may assist in the streaming of media content to a client device by identifying a media fragment which is likely to be requested by the client device in the (near) future, selecting a network link to be used for the streaming of the media segment, and effecting a prefetching of the media segment via the selected network link. In some embodiments, the streaming assistance system may be a DASH Aware Network Element (DANE).

    Abstract: An interface may be provided between i) a selective forwarding unit (SFU) configured to, in real-time, receive a data stream from a sender via a first network link of a communication network and selectively forward the data stream to one or more receivers via respective second network links, and ii) one or more core network functions (PCF, PCRF, NSMF, CSMF) for establishing service guarantees for data flows in the communication network. In a specific example, the interface may be established as a network function (SMGF) which translates streaming requirements for one-to-many flows coming from WebRTC SFUs into appropriate QoS/network slice configurations, such that the quality of RTC flows may be increased. Accordingly, negative side-effects of conservative congestion control algorithms in WebRTC clients and static/overprovisioned QoS at network operators may be overcome.

    Abstract: A control system enables re-registration of user equipment (UE) on an alternative network in the event of a partial failure of a network (VPLMN) for wireless communication. An access and mobility management function (AMF) manages the communication to user equipment (UE) via network slices (1,2,3). A slice priority management function (SPM) receives data indicative of a change in the network's ability to maintain the instantiated network slices and determines to reduce services via affected network slices. Before said slice reduction, the access and mobility management function is informed and sends a slice reduction message to the user equipment.
