  • Patent number: 11905347
Abstract: Propylene and alpha olefin random copolymers are disclosed that have excellent flow characteristics. For instance, the copolymers can be formulated so as to have a melt flow rate of greater than about 45 g/10 min. While still retaining the above flow characteristics, the copolymer can also be formulated to have greater stiffness, low xylene soluble content, and excellent transparency characteristics especially when combined with one or more clarifying agents.

Date of Patent: February 20, 2024
    Assignee: W.R. GRACE & CO .- CONN.
Inventors: Matthew John Fedec, Jan Willem Van Egmond, John Kalevi Kaarto, Amaia Montoya-Goni
  • Patent number: 11873355
Abstract: Propylene-ethylene copolymer compositions and production methods are provided. The copolymer compositions can be particularly advantageous for use in hot fill packaging of foodstuffs. The propylene-ethylene copolymers can be produced using a Ziegler-Natta catalyst and an alkoxysilane electron donor. The compositions can have propylene as a primary monomer with an ethylene content ranging from 2.0 to 6.0 percent by weight with a xylene soluble content of less than 7.0 percent by weight.

  • Patent number: 11654628
Abstract: A system, method and apparatus for additive manufacturing is disclosed. The method includes fluidizing particles with a medium to form a fluidized bed and additively manufacturing an article formed from the particles. The article has an open porous structure defining a plurality of pores and a plurality of fluid paths through the article. The method further includes flowing the particles and the medium through the fluid paths while the fluid paths are being formed. The article may be additively manufactured by selectively sintering the particles at target areas on the article which are near the surface of the fluidized bed.

  • Publication number: 20230141407
Abstract: A low-density structured material with good mechanical stability that can be used for three-dimensional structures, and methods to make and use same. In embodiments, the low-density structured material includes a first surface of interconnected polyhedrons, a plurality of tetrahedral arrangements whose base is the polyhedrons of the first surface, a second surface that is a web attached to the tetrahedral vertices of the tetrahedral arrangements, and panel materials overlying the web. The low-density structured material can be utilized in a variety of different structures.

  • Patent number: 11591458
Abstract: A polymerization process includes contacting an olefin or a mixture of the olefin and one or more copolymerizable comonomers under polymerization conditions with a catalyst composition and forming a polymer with a total ash content of less than 15 ppm. The catalyst composition includes one or more polymerization catalysts; and a mixed external electron donor comprising a selectivity control agent comprising at least one silicon-containing compound containing at least one C1-C10 alkoxy group bonded to a silicon atom.
