Patent number: 11956994Abstract: The present disclosure is generally related to 3D imaging capable OLED displays. A light field display comprises an array of 3D light field pixels, each of which comprises an array of corrugated OLED pixels, a metasurface layer disposed adjacent to the array of 3D light field pixels, and a plurality of median layers disposed between the metasurface layer and the corrugated OLED pixels. Each of the corrugated OLED pixels comprises primary or non-primary color subpixels, and produces a different view of an image through the median layers to the metasurface to form a 3D image. The corrugated OLED pixels combined with a cavity effect reduce a divergence of emitted light to enable effective beam direction manipulation by the metasurface. The metasurface having a higher refractive index and a smaller filling factor enables the deflection and direction of the emitted light from the corrugated OLED pixels to be well controlled.Type: GrantFiled: August 10, 2021Date of Patent: April 9, 2024Assignee: Applied Materials, Inc.Inventors: Chung-Chih Wu, Hoang Yan Lin, Guo-Dong Su, Zih-Rou Cyue, Li-Yu Yu, Wei-Kai Lee, Guan-Yu Chen, Chung-Chia Chen, Wan-Yu Lin, Gang Yu, Byung-Sung Kwak, Robert Jan Visser, Chi-Jui Chang

Publication number: 20240110715Abstract: A system for detecting and cleaning indoor air pollution includes gas detection devices and filtering devices. The gas detection devices are adapted to detect a qualitative property and a concentration of an air pollution and output an air pollution data to perform an intelligent computation. The filtering devices are physical-typed or chemical-typed for filtering the air pollution. The filtering devices include one or more movable filtering devices, and the movable filtering device includes a gas detection device. After the intelligent computation is performed to locate an air pollution location, a control command is transmitted to the movable filtering device selectively and intelligently, and the movable filtering device receives the control command and is moved to the air pollution location. Therefore, the movable filtering device allows the air pollution data to approach to a non-detection state, thus a gas in the indoor space is cleaned to a safe and breathable state.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 13, 2023Publication date: April 4, 2024Inventors: Hao-Jan MOU, Chin-Chuan WU, Yung-Lung HAN, Chi-Feng HUANG

Patent number: 8358808Abstract: Systems and methods for detecting and tracking objects, such as motor vehicles, within video data. The systems and method analyze video data, for example, to count objects, determine object speeds, and track the path of objects without relying on the detection and identification of background data within the captured video data. The detection system uses one or more scan lines to generate a spatio-temporal map. A spatio-temporal map is a time progression of a slice of video data representing a history of pixel data corresponding to a scan line. The detection system detects objects in the video data based on intersections of lines within the spatio-temporal map. Once the detection system has detected an object, the detection system may record the detection for counting purposes, display an indication of the object in association with the video data, determine the speed of the object, etc.Type: GrantFiled: January 10, 2011Date of Patent: January 22, 2013Assignee: University of WashingtonInventors: Yegor Malinovskiy, Yinhai Wang, Yao-Jan Wu
