Publication number: 20240250533Abstract: An energy orchestration module (EOM) is provided to dynamically power flexible loads such as electric vehicle batteries, water heaters, and heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. The EOM can monitor energy use in the relevant portion of the local electrical system to determine if available capacity exists to safely power a flexible load. When capacity exists the flexible load can be powered and when capacity is not available the flexible load can be disconnected to avoid an overcurrent event. In some applications, power to the flexible load is throttled to an intermediate level when there is less available capacity. Multiple EOMs powering flexible loads sharing the same electrical service may collectively follow a priority scheme to determine which flexible loads will be powered (and to what degree) under varying conditions. Coordination at the grid level can also be achieved to reduce the likelihood of a blackout or brownout event.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 22, 2024Publication date: July 25, 2024Applicant: Stepwise Electric, Inc.Inventors: Austin Hunt, Jane Chen, Ethan Brewer

Publication number: 20160295928Abstract: A baby temperature maintenance device is designed to regulate the temperature of a baby while providing a caretaker access to a lower portion of the baby without disturbing the baby. The baby temperature maintenance device includes a first panel of fabric, a second panel of fabric, a lower securing mechanism, and a plurality of upper securing mechanisms. The lower portions of the panels are fastened together with a lower securing mechanism that can be zipped open or closed. The upper portions of the panels are fastened together with upper securing mechanisms that fasten over each of the baby's shoulders. In some embodiments, a first wing and a second wing are included as a swaddle to fold over different sides and across the center of the first panel. The first wing and the second wing have reciprocal mating portions that fasten to each other to restrict movement of the baby's arms.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 12, 2016Publication date: October 13, 2016Inventors: Ulliyada Bopanna, Jane Chen

Publication number: 20150066119Abstract: Infant warming systems are described herein generally comprising a temperature regulation assembly which encloses a phase change material (PCM). The temperature regulation assembly may be initially heated (or re-heated) by water contained within a heating assembly and then placed within a retaining pouch of an infant bedding. The PCM may then provide constant heat over a period of time to the infant. A control/indicator interface coupled to the regulation assembly may constantly monitor the temperature of the PCM as well as the ambient temperature to provide one or more indications or alerts to the user with respect to one of several states of the warming assembly.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 29, 2013Publication date: March 5, 2015Applicant: Embrace InnovationsInventors: Rahul A. Publication number: 20150012075Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for regulating body temperature. The system includes a housing that comprises compartments for a phase change material and a heat transfer material. The compartments are configured to transfer heat from the heat transfer material to the phase change material. A temperature sensor is used to determine when the phase change material has reached a pre-determined temperature. When the pre-determined temperature is reached, a release mechanism or lever is coupled to the temperature sensor to separate the phase change material compartment from the heat transfer material compartment or to remove the heat transfer material away from the phase change material compartment. The heated phase change material compartment can be used to regulate body temperature.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 14, 2014Publication date: January 8, 2015Inventors: Linus Liang, Jane Chen, Rahul Panicker, Naganand Murty, Eu-wen Ding, Rajan Patel
