    Abstract: A composition of particulate barium sulfate combined with one or more coreactants selected from the group consisting of a silicone free of amino groups, a long chain fatty alcohol and a long chain fatty acid amide has been found to be effective as a hair conditioner. The claimed compositions may also contain conventional surface-active agents, emulsifiers, stabilizers, and the like. In aqueous dispersion, these compositions impart improved body, manageability and style retention to hair.

    Abstract: A personal cleansing composition includes a salt, preferably sodium salt, of alcohol ethoxy glyceryl sulfonate. The preferred sodium salt of alcohol ethoxy glyceryl sulfonate has the formula: ##STR1## where R is a radical with 4 to 24 carbon atoms and n is a number from 1 to 10. The composition may take the form of a bar, combar, syndet bar, shampoo, liquid soap, bubble bath or shower gel.
