  • Patent number: 6542382
Abstract: An apparatus for supporting a plurality of densely arranged electrically shielded communication panels includes a rack that supports at least two panels. The panels are supported adjacent to each other by the rack, and each panel includes at least two sides with a printed circuit on one side and a conductive sheet on the other side. In addition, the conductive sheet on each of the panels is coupled to an electrical connection point on the rack when the panel is placed in the rack. The two panels are placed in the rack such that the printed circuit of one of the panels is electrically shielded by the conductive sheet on another, closely aligned other one of the panels.

  • Patent number: 6466728
Abstract: An attenuator on which a fiber optic cable is loopable in a plurality of different configurations to provide incremental attenuation of light signals internally of the cable. The attenuator includes a base having a pair of spaced-apart spools around which a cable is looped in variable configurations to provide variable degrees of attenuation. Cable guide recesses are provided on the base outwardly of the spools, and hollow securing/stacking bosses extend upwardly from the base adjacent its ends.

  • Patent number: 6074240
Abstract: Briefly, and in accordance with the foregoing, the present invention envisions a novel terminal block assembly. The terminal block assembly of the present invention contains a dielectric material to provide environmental protection of a connector and a conductor when coupled to the connector. A dielectric protection system protects the dielectric material from detrimental environmental effects. Additionally, the terminal block assembly is configured to maintain the dielectric material in close contact with the connector without applying compressive forces thereto.

  • Patent number: 5779504
Abstract: The invention is a modular terminal block assembly. The modular terminal block assembly includes a base module in which communications company lines may be dressed and retained during the dressing operation. A connector module is provided for attachment over the base module and to engage the distribution lines retained in the base module with insulation displacement connectors (IDC) which are retained in the connector module. A protection module is provided for engagement with an opposite side of the base module so that protection can be provided on the lines without interfering with the connection termination of customer service line on the connector module. The modular terminal block assembly provides structures which allow the assembled modular terminal block to be retained on a standard U-shaped mounting frame or for attachment to a rod frame system. The protection module maintains protection on the lines while the terminal block assembly is in contact with the U-shaped frame and rod frame system.
