  • Publication number: 20200296970
Abstract: It has now been discovered that forming a shaped article from a blend of calcium hypochlorite and lime, wherein the lime content is greater than 10% by weight, based on the total weight of the shaped article, the resulting solid shaped article has a favorable dissolution (solubility) profile and the solid shaped article maintains structural integrity during use in an aqueous environment.
    Type: Application
    Filed: April 22, 2020
    Publication date: September 24, 2020
Inventors: Rahim Hani, Philip Gerdon Sweeny, Janet Akande

  • Publication number: 20190082699
Abstract: A water treatment composition for treating a body of water is provided that provides visual feedback to the end-user of the effectiveness of the composition. The composition contains a majority of calcium hypochlorite particles; and an effective amount of colored particles containing an oxidizable pigment oxidizable dye and a water soluble material. The colored particles release the oxidizable dye to the body of the water to provide a transient color to the recreational water during dissolution of the composition in the body of water, the transient color providing a visual cue to the end-user signaling of the biocidal activity of the composition. Also provided is a method of applying the water treatment composition to recreational water.
    Type: Application
    Filed: November 16, 2018
    Publication date: March 21, 2019
Inventors: Janet Jones, Amber Khanzada, Janet Akande, Michael Unhoch
