  • Patent number: 4525959
Abstract: A hand-held finishing tool includes a forked member with a removable wedge which combine to enable retention of a continuous abrasive belt optionally having two strips with different abrasive grits. Adjoining planar surfaces, angularly related to facilitate finishing operations, form an outer perimeter of the forked member. The interior of the forked member has an undulating U-shaped surface to allow for easy grasping and manipulation of the tool. The rear edge of the two legs of the forked member are spaced apart to facilitate squeezing of the rear of the tool for mounting of the belt. Thereafter, the wedge is insertable to spread about the rear edges of the two legs thereby tightening the belt about the tool periphery.
