  • Publication number: 20080176018
Abstract: A protective device for a glazed structure, in particular an aircraft windscreen 20, comprises at least one removable sacrificial sheet of transparent composite 10. The composite 10 comprises a transparent polymeric film 11 having on one side an electrically conductive layer 12 formed from a dispersion of electrically conductive particles and which is coated with a transparent hard coat 13, with the other side having adhesive layer 14 thereon. Sheets of the composite 10 may be arranged in a stack so that each sheet adheres to the adjacent underneath sheet with the uppermost sheet of each stack being removable as the sheet becomes damaged and/or dirty.

  • Publication number: 20080094703
Abstract: Now, according to the present invention, dichroic filters are provided that incorporate a flexible polymer film substrate, such as poly(ethylene naphthalate), onto which a dielectric and/or reflective metal stack has been formed. Filters of the present invention are durable, flexible, and lightweight, and can be advantageously used in many specialty lighting applications.

  • Publication number: 20070087153
Abstract: A release liner 10 comprising a polymeric film substrate 11, typically PET film, having a transparent layer 12 of electrically conductive polymer, preferably a PEDOT-PSS (Polyethylenedioxythiophene/polystyrenesulphonic acid), formed on one side thereof, the conductive polymer layer 12 being over coated with a transparent layer 13 of a curable silicone polymer or copolymer.

  • Publication number: 20050079340
Abstract: A transaction card includes an optically active film composite comprising a PET polymeric film substrate covered with a hard coat layer of resin having a thickness of less than 6 microns, and a pencil hardness of at least 2H, the hard coat including a polymeric resin binder with nanoparticles of Lanthanum hexaboride absorbing light having a wavelength in the range of 700-1100 nm. The composite preferably has a VLT of about 50% and a transmission in the near IR wavelength of less than 10%.
