  • Patent number: 6603849
Abstract: A telecommunications system and method is disclosed for re-directing failed calls to H.323 endpoints within an H.323 system by adding a unique re-routing release cause to a Release Complete message in the H.225 protocol that indicates that the call should be re-routed to another number. The Gatekeeper within the H.323 system stores the alternative number for the H.323 endpoint, and upon reception of this new re-routing cause in the Release Complete message, the Gatekeeper establishes a new leg of call to the alternative number.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 20, 1999
Date of Patent: August 5, 2003
    Assignee: Ericsson Inc.

  • Patent number: 6487425
Abstract: A method of supporting a switch from a limited operations low power operating mode of a mobile station (50) to a normal operating mode of the mobile station (50) in a wireless network (40). The method comprising the step of causing the mobile station (50) to inform the network (40) that it is entering into a low power operating mode. The method further comprises. the steps of causing the mobile station (50) to enter the low power operating mode, and causing the network (40) to acknowledge that the mobile station (50) is in the low power operating mode. Calls is made to a number associated with the low power operating mode are terminated by causing the mobile station (50) to switch to the normal operating mode.

  • Patent number: 6366791
Abstract: A telecommunications system and method is disclosed for allowing network operators to download ringing tone pattern(s) associated with one or more musical scores to mobile stations (MSs) according to the music selection of mobile subscribers associated with the MSs. Once executed, the ringing tone pattern provides a musical ringing tone on the MS, instead of the normal ringing tone. In addition, ringing tone patterns can be used to enhance the “distinctive ringing” function within the MS. Thus, instead of using distinctive ringing patterns to represent different called party numbers, different music can be used.
