Abstract: A wallpaper printer includes a cabinet. The cabinet includes a touch screen interface which is positioned at a convenient height for a standing person. The cabinet defines a winding area. A pair of spindles is located in the winding area, and is configured to engage and rotate a winding core. A tape dispenser can dispense tape for attaching print media to the winding core. A printing means is located in the cabinet and is configured to print a wallpaper design upon print media being wound onto the core. A data capture device is tethered to the cabinet and is configured to read indicia so that the printer can thereafter print the wallpaper design corresponding to the indicia upon the print media.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a printhead assembly. The printhead assembly includes an elongate casing. An end housing is attached to an end of the casing via an end plate. A connector arrangement is housed within the end housing. The connector arrangement includes a power supply connector which is exposed to facilitate mating with a complementary connector. An ink ejection printhead is housed within the casing. A plurality of busbars is electrically coupled between the power supply connector and the printhead to supply power to the printhead.

Abstract: A slitting mechanism for a roll media printer is provided. The slitting mechanism has a rotatable carousel of rotatable slitting shafts which extend across the width of a media web arranged to pass the slitting shafts along a path. Each slitting shaft has at least one slitter misaligned with at least one of the slitters of the other slitting shafts. Each slitter has a cutting edge. The slitting mechanism is selectively movable and the carousel is selectively rotatable to a plurality of cutting positions within the path. Each cutting position results in a different width of roll media being output from the printer.

Abstract: A method of supplying a media web to a wallpaper printer. the method includes opening a reusable case, placing into the case a core onto which has been located a supply roll of a blank media web and supporting the core for rotation within the case. then, leading a free edge of the roll between a pair of rollers and past an edge of the open case and closing the case. next the case is loaded into a self threading printer with the rollers located within the case and on either side of the media web. the printer includes a full width digital color printhead and the printhead prints a wallpaper pattern on at least part of the media web to produce wallpaper.

Abstract: An inkjet printhead assembly includes an elongate casing that defines a longitudinally extending printhead module channel. A printhead module is positioned in the channel and has a fluid channel member that defines a number of longitudinally extending channels. A plurality of printhead tiles is mounted on the fluid channel member. Each printhead tile is in fluid communication with the channels via outlet ports in fluid communication with said respective channels. A printhead integrated circuit is mounted on each printhead tile. The tiles are configured to nest with each other and the printhead integrated circuits are oriented to have adjacent overlapping end portions. Power and control circuitry is mounted on the casing. Flexible printed circuit boards interconnect the printhead integrated circuits and the power and control circuitry.

Abstract: The invention provides a method of supplying a media web to a wallpaper printer. The method involves opening a reusable case and placing into the case a core onto which has been located a supply roll of blank wallpaper media. The core is supported for rotation within the case before it is closed. A free edge of the roll is placed between a pair of rollers and past an edge of the open case, then with the rollers located within the case and on either side of the web the case is closed and loaded into a printer. In some embodiments, a pair of resilient bias devices hold the rollers in proximity.
